Chapter 849

The security guards actually started moving in to kick ire out.

But before anyone couldy a hand on her, Felix arrived.

The receptionist''s heart skipped a beat as she kept stealing nces at ire.

An anxious thought crept into her mind: "Could this masked woman actually be the boss''s wife?"

Felix cut straight through the crowd and walked directly up to ire. "Let''s talk upstairs."

Since it was a private matter, he didn''t want the entirepany watching.

However, ire refused toply, her rebellious streak ring up. "I''m not going."

He furrowed his brow. "Why not?"

"Afraid I''ll interrupt your little rendezvous."

Felix read the implication perfectly from her eyes, freezing for a second. "What are you imagining now?"

ire let out a coldugh. "If you weren''t guilty, you wouldn''t care what I was imagining."

Felix knew ire had a sharp tongue.

But making a scene in public, right in front of his subordinates, meant his expression turned rather ugly.

"Do you want to discuss this or not?" Felix demanded, suppressing his anger.

ire''s immediate impulse was to curse him out.

But remembering that the divorce was happening tomorrow, she realized she couldn''t afford any extraplications.

She swallowed her temper and smiled sweetly. "Of course! Let''s talk right now! But I''m not going upstairs. I don''t want to burn my eyes looking at anything dirty. Let''s find a coffee shop outside."

He wanted to argue that there was nothing ''dirty'' upstairs.

But the words caught in his throat, and he was forced to swallow them back down.

In the end, he followed ire out of the building.

Once the boss was gone, the receptionist nervously asked Felix''s assistant, "Was that really Mr. Quigley''s wife?"

The assistant nodded. "The one and only."

The receptionist''s face instantly drained of color.

Before she could even process this shocking revtion, Madeline came rushing down from the upper floors.

She had no idea ire had been there. All she knew was that Felix had gone downstairs and never came back up.

Worried that the soup would get cold, she decided toe looking for him.

Spotting the receptionist, she walked over with her usual bright smile and asked if she had seen Felix.

The receptionist was now looking at her with a very strange expression, oneced with clear disdain.

    "Mr. Quigley... went out."

Madeline didn''t think much of it. "I

wonder what was so urgent. He didn''t even take his cell phone, sò I can reach him Oh well I''ll just w for him in his office."

The receptionist forced a stiff, awkward smile.

As soon as Madeline walked away, she whipped out her phone and went online.

[My world is copsing! The Feline

CP I''ve been shipping for so longús totally fake! Felix Quigley is actually

married! Madeline is the other Woman! Ahhhhh, I''m losing

    mind!]

In an era where homewreckers were universally despised, the receptionist may

have been a bit of a snob, but she still had her basic morals intact.

More importantly, she simply couldn''t ept that her favorite ship was a lie! This was practically a death blow!

Unaware of the drama unfolding back at the office, ire and Felix walked to a nearby coffee shop.

As soon as they sat down, ire didn''t want to waste a single second. She got straight to the point. "Which use in the divorce agreement needs changing?"

Felix, who had been the one to demand this meeting, suddenly lookedpletely unhurried. He deliberately changed the subject "Grandma hasn''t been feeling welltely. Have you been to see her?"

"Huh? She didn''t mention feeling sick to me."

Besides, they had just video-chatted the night before, and the older woman had seemed perfectly fine.

Felix replied, "Grandma loves you. She''s closer to you than she is to me. You should

go back and spend more time with her when you can."

"I don''t need you to tell me that."

Besides, over the past five years, she had spent far more time visiting his

grandmother than he had as her actual grandson.
