The moment Samuel’s words hit his cars, something inside him snapped. The control he usually kept in check burned away. One hand shot out, grabbed Samuel by the cor and mmed him against the wall with a thud that turned heads across the terminal. Logan’s body pressed forward, his eyes locked on the man in front of him.

A sudden anger surged in his chest–not just anger, but instinct. A threat had justid im to what was his. His mate. His pup. Samuel’s words hadn’t just insulted him, they had mocked everything he swore to protect.

Samuel flinched slightly but kept the smirk. “That struck a nerve? Does it hurt? Knowing you’ve been protecting someone else’s child? The truth… that must sting.”

    Logan didn’t speak.

“How did she do it?” Samuel continued, unfazed. “Did she drug your drink? Whisper the right lies? Or did you just want to believe the fantasy so badly you didn’t care who she used to be?”

Samuel nced at the guards, then back at Logan.

“You don’t look like some idiot she picked up. The guards alone tell me you have weight. Influence. So why are you acting like a fool over a woman like that? You know some girls would do anything to get into a bed like yours.”

Logan’s fist twitched. His breathing changed. His irises flickered for a brief second–just enough for Samuel to freeze.

“What the hell…?” What the hell is wrong with this man’s eyes? Samuel couldn’t help but wonder if this Logan was sick or something.

Logan didn’t respond. His body tensed further. Muscles tightened. His hand clenched, raised-

    “Logan,” Emery said.

He froze. Fist inches from Samuel’s face.

Emery immediately stepped forward, eyes steady, “Let him go.”

For a second, he didn’t move. Then, slowly, he let his hand drop.

Logan took a single step back. His eyes never left Samuel as Emery moved past him.

He watched as Samuel straightened his back and wiped the blood from the corner of his lip with a smug look, but before he could say anything else, Emery pped him.

    Hard.

His head snapped to the side. He didn’t have time to react before she turned to the guards.

The two guards didn’t hesitate. They each took one of Samuel’s arms and held him firmly in ce. He struggled, surprised, but they didn’t budge.

    Emery stepped closer.

“This,” she said, pping him again. “Is for thinking I’m worth so little.”

    Another p.

“This is for being blind and stupid.”

    Another.

“This is for every insult you thought I wouldn’t hear.”

    A fourth.

“This is for wasting five damn years of my life.”

She lifted her hand again. Samuel turned his face slightly but couldn’t move away.

“This is for thinking my husband is a fool.”

    She pped him again.

    Then paused.

“And this… I haven’t figured out the reason for this one yet, but I’m doing it in advance.”

She raised her hand one more time-

    Logan caught her wrist.

She looked at him. His fingers wrapped around her arm, firm.

But instead of saying a word, Logan suddenly kissed her red palm. Emery froze. She didn’t know what he was trying to do, but this actually made her notice that her hands had be so red–just like Samuel’s face!

Logan kissed her palm again. The pressure was light, yet it somehow caused something warm blossom in her chest.

“Don’t hurt yourself for trash like him,” he said. “Every time you p him, you feel it too. And I’m not letting anything hurt you. Not even this.”

Emery blinked, staring at him. Her hand hovered awkwardly in the air between them, fingers tingling from the sting of impact. She didn’t know what to say. Logan kissed her palm again. Slower this time.

She tried to pull her hand back, but he caught it, gently holding it against his chest.

“Enough,” Logan said without looking at Samuel. “Take care of that manchild.”

The guards understood immediately. One of them nodded. The other yanked Samuel back toward the corner, gripping his shoulders and shoving him against the wall like a sack.

Logan didn’t wait. He turned and slipped his other arm beneath Emery’s knees. Before she could protest, he lifted her clean off the floor.

“Logan!” she gasped, instinctively wrapping an arm around his neck. “What are you-”

“You can walkter. We need to get you to a hospital.”

    “I’m not injured! I-”

    “Shh… it’s the baby.”

The baby? That was enough to stop her from speaking. Emery blinked. She didn’t feel anything at all! Not a sense of danger or any ufortable sensation in her body.

Her lips parted to argue, but his grip was too steady. And somehow, being in his arms felt safer than standing in that mess.

Samuel shouted behind them. “Get back here! You think this is over? I’m not done!”

The guards didn’t move. One shoved Samuel back down by the shoulder.

    “You’re done here.”

Samuel fought back, jerking his arms. But the guards held firm. He kicked at the floor and twisted his body in frustration.

“Get your hands off me! Do you know who I am?!” he shouted.

Vanessa arrived secondster. Her eyes widened when she saw her son slouched in the corner, both cheeks red and swelling. “Samuel! What happened to you?! Who did this?”

Samuel pushed himself up, brushing her hands off when she reached for him.

    “Don’t touch me,” he snapped.

    “Samuel-”

“I said shut up!” he yelled, standing on his feet. His knees were still unsteady. He shoved her aside as she tried to help him again.

Vanessa stumbled a little but didn’t fall. Her eyes were wide, stunned.

Samuel red toward the exit where Logan had disappeared with Emery. “They’ll regret this,” he muttered.

But no one paid him any attention. The guards remained posted near him, eyes still sharp.

Samuel’s jaw clenched as he stood there, surrounded by strangers who had witnessed everything. His face throbbed. His pride felt torn apart. Not once in his entire life had anyone dared to humiliate him like this- not in public, not this loudly, not with this many eyes watching.

He touched his cheek again, still warm from the ps. Then he turned slowly to look at Vanessa.

    She stepped forward cautiously. “Samuel-”

“Don’t,” he cut her off. His chest heaved.

    “Just listen-”

“This is your fault,” he said tly. “All of it.”

    Vanessa blinked, frozen.

“You lied. You said she took the money. You made me believe she left because she wanted nothing to do with me.” His voice was tight, low. “You told me to forget her. You pushed Talia and my marriage. You ruined this. You! Ruined! This!”
