I’m on my way to find my mates when Aleisha and Mum find me first, dragging me into the room we’ve done all of those dress fittings in.
“Oh my god, girl!” Aleisha squeals
“You can fan girl and gossipter, Aleisha. Let me have her.” Mum pulls my hand towards a rack of clothing, and I groan.
“I thought we already did this?”
“We did! But that was when we thought you would just be Alpha’s and Luna, now you’re royalty, we need to rethink the choices and go BIG.”
“I like that one. Let’s just go with that.” I point to the first navy blue dress on the rack.
“Well, let’s try it on then! We must know if it fits and how it looks!”
I really want to get back to my mates, to see them, hold them, ugh, bloody mate bond.
“Okay.” I sigh as she passes me the dress and ushers me behind the curtains. When Ie out, both Mum and Aleisha are frowning slightly.
“What?” I huff out, holding my arms wide and doing a little twirl.
“No, not that one,” Mum says.
“Why not?”
“Because it doesn’t scream ‘Royal Princess,’ ” Aleisha says. Sifting through the rack again until I spot a simple, silk andce, ck slip dress. Spaghetti straps and a nice but modest V line at the breasts, and a golden chain that sits over the hips and drops over the belly. It says, “I’m a badass, but I’m elegant.” Aleisha sees it too, pulling out and hovering it in front of me. I don’t wait to be told; I go and try it on and notice there’s a huge slit up the thigh from where it glides at floor length. Yep, this is it. The girls agree, and I’m finally released to continue on my way to find…
“Little mate!” Xavier says happily, jogging down the hall and picking me up by the waist to twirl me around and kiss my lips. “I missed you.”
I giggle. “It’s only been a few hours,” I say, pressing my head against his chest as Haidenes up behind me, squishing me between them as he kisses the back of my neck.
“A few hours too long, love.”
“Where’s Levi and Noah? We need to talk.”
“Ah oh… That’s never a good sign.” Haiden says over my shoulder to Xavier, who frowns down at me.
“What’s wrong, little mate?”
“Nothing…yet, maybe, I don’t know. I just need to talk to you all together about some things my brothers brought up.”
“Okay, they’re in your room. We wanted to eat pizza and watch movies together before things get crazy busy around here.”
“Plus, we all wanted to hold you for a bit after what just happened,” Haiden says, picking me up bridal style and walking towards my room. The sparks are even’stronger now. His scent is invading me, his heartbeat just below my ear on his chest is sending a simr thumping sensation between my legs, just as Xavier opens my bedroom door and we enter. All four of my mate’s eyes darken as they take in long inhales of my clearly wafting arousal. I jump down from Haiden’s arms and quickly walk into the bathroom with my blushing cheeks.
I ssh some water on my face and take some deep breaths, thinking about blood and gore and war…Not –my hulking Alpha mates and their muscles…Nope, nope, fuck.
There’s a soft knock on the door.
“Luna, are you okay in there?” Noah asks.
“Ah, yeah, just give me a second.”
When I open the door, I’m startled to see my mates standing closely to the doorway.
“Come on, little mate. We know you’re not ready yet. It’s just the mate bonding on harder now that it’s so close to your first shift.” Xavier holds my hand.
“But you do smell absolutely delicious.” Haiden winks. “Come tell us what you wanted to talk about.”
We all sit around on the bed as I share the bombshell my brothers dropped on me.
“Prince Alpha Haiden….hmmm.” I’ll admit it has a ring to it. He says yfully.
“This is serious.” I smack his arm. “There’s a lot of shiting our way and…”
“And we’re going to be fine. We’ll get through it all, together.” Levi says, steely and unfazed.
“We were raised knowing we would be Alpha’s one day. What’s a few more responsibilities?” Xavier nods in agreement.
“I wonder what my powers will be.” Haiden ponders and cops a back head to the head from Noah. “What?! Don’t tell me you didn’t think about it.”
“I was thinking about how to keep our mate from spiralling with all of this new information, you ass hat.”
“Well, obviously I’m thinking about that too!” Haiden pulls me into hisp, nuzzling his face into my neck. “But our girl is strong. She doesn’t need us to save the day. She just needs us to be there for her.”
“Thank you,” I say, leaning back against him. “This is all a lot. I just…yeah, I’m not sure what I’m supposed to be doing with it all.”
“We’ll figure it out. For now, how about pizza and a movie? Tomorrow is a big day.” Xavier pats my leg while Noah starts getting the pizza boxes from the table in the corner and cing them on the bed.
The rest of the day is spent in somewhat of a normal bliss. Hanging out with my guys in bed, while Mum only came in five or six times to ask my opinion on seating arrangements or flowers and other stuff I didn’t care much for. Thankfully, the guys answered all the questions for me, working together to create an image of a beautiful ceremony now that everything had been pushed forward and we were working with what we had on hand. Tomorrow. The start of the rest of my life starts tomorrow.
Do I believe these guys will help guide me every step of the way? To love me, care for me, live their lives with me? Fuck yes.
