Noah
It’s finally my turn to take Envy on a date. To say I’m nervous is a bloody understatement, I’m fucking shitting myself. We didn’t start on the best of terms. I was an idiot with how I handled the situation, an absolute dumb ass for not waiting for my mate, but I’m determined to make it up to her. I will grovel until the end of my days if need be. The guys and I got up super early once again. With so much nning and preparations needed to be made for the Alpha Kings arrival, the blessing ceremony and the Alpha’s and Luna ceremony, well it’s safe to say thest few days have been a chaotic mass of work.
“I’m kind of nervous…what if she doesn’t like it? I mean you two clearly wooed her socks off. How am I supposed topete with that?” I ask them as we sort through a few more details in the office.
“You’re not supposed topete.” Xavier starts. “You’re just supposed to show her who you are, find out who she is, and enjoy the time together.”
“Yeah, don’t try topete. There’s no way any of you will top my date with her.” Haiden jokes, but I’m not in the mood for it.
“I’m going to go wake her.” I mumble out, tossing my stack of papers on the desk and leaving. When I get to the bedroom my hands are sweaty, and my heart rate is through the roof. I run my hands along my short head of hair a few times trying to build up some courage that today will be good for her, before I enter her room. She’s already awake, making the bed as the sun now shines through the open windows and catches on the billion suncatchers we set upst night for her. The pretty little lights dancing around the room bounce off her milky white skin and dark hair that cascades down her back. She’s dressed in the short blue sundress I left out for her. She looks ethereal. Every bit the goddess blessed Luna I know she is.
“Good morning.” She smiles sweetly at me, straightening out thest of the wrinkles in the doona.
“Good morning, Luna. You look utterly beautiful today.”
“I do? Hmm…I’ll admit, I’m not a fan of dresses but this one is actually prettyfy. It’s got enough movement I could still kick some ass if needed.”
Iugh as she shows me a swinging kick and a few more moves.
“That probably won’t be necessary, but I’ll keep it in mind for any future dresses we buy for you. Must be able to kick ass in them.” I tick off an imaginary checklist.
“Are we going somewhere special today?” She pries for information about our date.
“We are indeed. Somewhere very special…to me, hopefully to you also.” I hold out my arm for her and thankfully she doesn’t leave me hanging and looks her tiny hand in the crook of my arm.
I lead her past the kitchen where an omega has two sandwich wraps prepared for us. I take both and hand
one to Envy, unwrapping my own and eating as we walk. She shrugs and mirrors me.
“Are we taking a car? Or a bike? Or…a balloon?” Sheughs as we exit the packhouse.
“Actually, we’re walking today. Is that…okay?”
Her smile fills me with warmth. “Yeah, I’d very much like that.”
Thank fucking gods. One point for me. This is good, we’re good, I’m good.
Yes yes, we’re a good boy. She should give me pats for being a good boy! Talen muses and I mentally roll my eyes at him.
Not now.
He huffs and clearly isn’t impressed with me but perks back up instantly when Envy starts asking about different buildings as we walk through the town. It’s only four blocks away until we’re at the destination.
“So…I know that the other two had these big, dreamy dates that we’re magical and all…I just kind of wanted to show you a piece of what’s important to me. This…” I’m cut off as I wave a hand at the big building behind me.
“ALPHA NOAHHHHHHHHHHH!” A tiny, high-pitched squeal erupts in my overly sensitive ears, but I grin when I spin around to see Macey running towards me. Macey is a four-year-old orphaned pup. Her parents died in a rogue attack not long after she was born and is one of many pups here that Ie to see at least once a week.
“Hey there sweet girl!” I kneel down at snatch her up for a hug when she reaches me.
“Alpha Noah…” She whispers in my ear, but it’s not very subtle because I know Envy can clearly hear her. “Who’s the pretty girl?!”
“That’s my mate.” I fake whisper back. Macey’s eyes grow wide with happiness, and she bounces on my hip and pats my chest to let me know she wants to get down. Envy immediately kneels when she sees Macey getting closer to her.
“I’m Macey!” The eager pup holds out her hand like I’ve taught her to do before.
Envy smiles, big and wide and then scoops Macey up into her arms.
“Hello Macey. I’m Envy. It’s a pleasure to meet you!”
“Are you going to being to our movie night?!”
Envy looks over at me and I nod with a sheepish smile.
“Well it looks like it, little one.”
“EEEEEEEPPPPP! Yayyyyyyyy!!!!!!” Macey bounces around in a circle doing a little happy dance. “BEST DAY EVER! COME ON. I’LL SHOW YOU EVERYTHING!” Macey grabs her hand as Envy stands and follows her into the house. She looks back over her shoulder to see if I’ming and I can’t help but to mirror the huge grin she’s wearing. She likes it!
“Nanna Nia! Nanna Nia! LOOK!” Macey bursts through the front doors and rounds corner after corner until we’re in the kitchen where the elder who the kids call “Nanna Nia” is working.
“Well who’s your friend, Macey?”
“This is Alpha Noah’s mate!”
“Envy.” I supply. “Envy this is Nanna Nia. She takes care of the kids most days here.”
“Most days, expect for movie night, where Noah takes over for me.”
“You do this every week?” Envy looks at me.
“Yep, one full day every week. We bake sweets, do some activities, y some music…”
Macey cuts me off again, “and a night we make this reaaaaalllllllyyyyy big fire with crackers and chocte and marshmallows and we watch a movie outside on this big sheet in the trees!!!!!!!!!” –
“That…sounds….amazing!” Envy says back excitedly.
