To protect what’s mine
Chapter 139 Markus
“How’s she doing?” I ask as I walk into the gym. I brought extra water and sandwiches for Ama in a carry coolet from home. I drop it by the door and continue towards my brother and Juliet.
“She is amazing,” Cal tells me as he does not take his eye off our mate as she continues to run.
“Our Luna is something,” Juliet agrees as she oversees the training. “Most wolves would have tapped out by now. And I’m not talking about young wolves first learning. She has the staminal built up as if she had been running for years.”
“She’s not really run before,” I tell her.
Juliet looks at us and raises her eyebrow at us.
“Being trapped in her parents‘ basement, Beren never got the chance to run before,” I exin.
“She did not go insane?” she asks, her eyes blown wide.
“No, she did not,” Cal answers.
I look up and watch Beren run. She is tired, anyone could tell. With how long she has been
running, and not stopping, she should be stumbling and falling over. Also given the fact she
has not had breakfast either. But Beren continues to run, only stoping for a few seconds for a
drink.
‘Darling?‘ I ask her through the mind link.
‘Busy,‘ Ama says as she closes the link.
“She refuse to answer you?” Cal asks, still watching Ama,
“Yea,” I answer him.
“Beren and Ama have pushed everyone out so they can focus on running and watching her surroundings,” Cal tells me. “How is Nicks doing with training?”
“He’s nervous, almost all of the warriors are older than him. His father refused to let him start
training warriors older than him. He’s great with peers his age. They went to school with him so the know what he can do and trust him.” I tell my twin
“Have Vir hrip, if need by/ Juliet kaya
Chapter 139 Markus
“She is,” Iugh at the memory from yesterday. “She put three warriors on their asses when they started mouthing off to Nick. Nick then sparred with her to show that he did not need her to protect him.”
“I would have paid good money to see those fights,” Alec says as he stumbles over to us. He flops, face first, down on the floor, breathing heavily.
“You okay?” I ask the man as his bare ass moons us.
“I don’t know how she is still running.” Alec murmurs into the floor.
“She’s determined,” Cal says.
“Take a break princess,” Juliet shouts over the scratching of ws on the floor.
Beren skids to a stop and looks up at us. Beren looks like she wants to protest.
“Love, you need a break. At least take a breather and eat something.” Cal calls out to her.
She huffs but trots over to us. Beren trots to me first. She rubs up against my leg and lets out a rumble of a purr. I smile down at her and scratch at her soft ears. She tilts her head up and licks my hand. She then walks over to Cal and rubs up against him. He has a soft smile as he
pets her.
“Transform and eat some lunch,” I tell her.
Beren starts to shift back to Ama. Once the shift isplete, Ama looks exhausted. Her legs are trembling as she bends over to pick up her shirt. Ama starts to lose her bnce.
Cal and I reach her at the same time and steady her.
“I’m fine,” Ama tries to dismiss as she stands up straighter. She struggles with her shirt.
“You’re not fine,” Cal says, a warning in his tone to not argue.
“I’m just a little tired,” sheins.
“Darling, you have been running since five thirty,” I point out.
“So?” she tries to challenge as she finally gets her shirt on
“Love, it’s after two,” Cal tells her
“You’ve been running for almost right hours.” I finish

Chapter 139 Markus
“Take a breath and get your strength back,” Juliet orders as she nods towards George and Sean.
The other two drop gratefully to the floor to rest, their wolves panting like dogs.
Ama sinks to the floor with Cal’s assistance. She epts her water bottle from Cal as she sits on the floor. Ama starts to drink from her bottle, chugging it as fast as she can.
“Slow down,” Cal tells her as he pushes the water bottle away from her lips.
1 go back to the cooler 1 brought with me. I pick it up and carry it over to Ama. She is ring at Cal as she takes smaller sips under his approval. I hand Ama a sandwich. She unwraps it and takes a small, measured, bite. She is still ring, as if daring one of us to say anything as she eats her sandwich.
Juliet tries her hardest not to let out a cackle at Ama’s antics.
“Uncle Mike packed lunches for everyone,” I say as I toss a sandwich to Juliet.
“Sweet,” sheughs as she snags the sandwich out of the air.
I look towards George and Sean, their wolves are perked up at the thought of food. They transform back into their humans. I snicker at how pathetic they look and toss them food. George is able to snag the sandwich out of the air like his sister.
But Sean misses his, and it goes skidding across the floor. He looks longingly at his missed sandwich. Sean flops back on the floor in defeat, not bothering to retrieve it.
I look back towards Ama and she has already finished her first. I hand her another sandwich. She continues to eat with controlled bites. After her second sandwich is gone, she drinks more water. Ama is looking longingly at the cooler.
“Let your food settle a little before you eat another,” I tell her as I sit beside her.
She nods her head as she rests her head on my shoulder. I feel her exhaustion.
“You are amazing,” I tell her as I lean and rest my head on hers.
She doesn’t say anything in response. I tilt my head down to look at her. I have to suppress my chuckle, she’s asleep as she rests on my shoulder.
“Take the princess home. We will continue tomorrow,” Julietughs as she finishes her lunch.
