Guard 125

    Chapter 125 Markus

Ama is so nervous as we lead her to the council hall. Jonas’sment when we arrived has shaken her confidence. She is hiding slightly behind us as Cal shoves open the doors.

“We have traitors in the pack,” Cal growls as he strides into the council hall.

The pack elders and the three warriors that are there, all turn sharply to look at us. Confusion is written across most of their faces. Two of the elders have that calcting look as they stare at us.

Before anyone is able to say anything, more people arrive.

Sam and Nick walk into the room pulling the two that had attacked Cal. Uncle Will follows behind

    them.

“Why are two warriors looking worse for wear?” an elder demands from the table. Elder Dalton has

been a part of the council since before we were born. He takes great pride in lording his position

over others. After everything calms down, he will be the first to go.

“Miles and Nathan challenged me to the Alpha position,” Cal growls.

“Instead of it being an honorable challenge, both ganged up on my brother, their Alpha,” I growl out as I re at the two traitors.

“They are lucky they got any medical treatment after what they pulled,” Uncle Will says with arge.

    “Packw states-”

“We are well aware Dr Reed, of packws,” Jonas snaps.

“Yet you need a refresher,” Nick mutters in disdain.

    “Be quiet, pup,” Dalton growls.

“That is Delta Nick,” Ama growls as she pushes forward.

Goddess, I love this woman. She might be nervous about herself but won’t back down to protect

    others.

“None but the Alphas have had a ceremony to instate them, including you, Luna,” Jonas spat at my

    mate.

“Does not mean that you get to disrespect them,” Cal growls.

“Positions need to be filled,” Dalton growls back.

    “They are filled,” I growl.

    Chapter 125 Markus

“Says you. But by packw, they are not filled as no ceremony has been preformed,” Jonas smirks as he sends a look to Uncle Will.

“Then we preform the ceremony now,” Elder Isaac says as he interrupts the other elders.

His mate, another elder, Willow, nods her head. “We can have the ceremonies now if that is the reason you are pushing back against the leadership,” Willow points out.

“It is not the ceremonies that we have the issues with,” Jonas growls.

Dalton nods his head in agreement. “It is the leadership that has problems,” Dalton says.

“Every pack transition has issues,” Sam growls in our defense.

“We haveplications in the form of upstart leaders,” Miles growls from where he is forced to stand off to the side.

“We are doing the best that we can. We have been dealing with an abusive Delta, Gamma and warrior who decided to lock up our mate,” I growl.

“Yes, your mate,” Jonas growls at Ama. “She is a white wolf! How could you keep that from us?”

“We were advised by Alpha Harold and Alpha Lucas to keep Ama’s coat color a secret,” I growl as I ce Ama behind me to protect her.

“You had no right to keep this from the council,” Dalton says angrily.

“They are protecting their mate,” Willow growls at her fellow council member.

“Elder Zane and Elder Alison, you have not said a word since this has started,” Jonas growls at the

“Alpha Calyx and Markus have been doing their best. They spent to much time looking for their mate to learn the duties from their father,” Alison sighs at us. 1

I want to growl in frustration. She is usually supportive of us. Why is she turning against us now? Not to mention, Aziz is getting riled up at everything. He is getting mad at the insinuations made.

‘I say we kill everyone that is against us,‘ Aziz growls in frustration.

‘We can’t kill all of the elders,‘ I sigh, just as frustrated.

‘Not all, Willow and Isaac are not against us,‘ Aziz points out.

    ‘Aziz,‘ I say in exasperation.

    Chapter 125 Markus

    “Zane?” Jonas asks expectantly,

“The twins are protecting their mate. Amalie is a white wolf. She is supposed to be special to the goddess,” Zane says. “Wo

have spent to long listening to Mathew about how a pack has to be run. He pushed for chosen mates instead of finding our fated mate. He let those in authority abuse their

    power.”

Dalton sputters at the insinuation of abuse of power. He cannot refute as everyone, even the few warriors who had joined the meeting, know that Dalton has lorded his elder status over the pack. He has enjoyed avish house with an omega caretaker and not having to fight for the pack.

Honestly, I can’t even remember why he gained the title of elder. He’s not even that oldpared to

some of the other wolves we have.

“You all have benefited from Alpha Mathew’s leadership,” Jonas growls.

“Yes, we all have. And that is the problem. We are not humans. We are not put into leadership

positions for profit. As pack elders, we are to advise the next generation and be a better example,”

    Isaac says.

The warriors are nodding their heads in agreement.

Jonas and Dalton both snarl in anger at Isaac’s words.

“We are better than humans,” Jonas growls as he threatens to shift.

“Enough!” Zviad growls, shutting everyone up. “Witches are after our mate because she is a white wolf. Our father, your former Alpha, had our mate locked up in her home for seven years. The former

Gamma was in on keeping Ama locked up and told his pup that she deserved to be Luna. The former

Delta abused his son and his mate.”

“That is the the of leadership that the Moonstone Pack was suffering under,” Aziz growls as he

forces himself forward. “We will be doing some cleaning of leadership. The Alpha Council will be

made aware, and we don’t care what it takes. Leaders are supposed to lead, not abuse the power.”

“Enough is enough,” Ama growls, with Beren’s power. “We are werewolves. We are not rabble. You will be better, or someone else will take your ce. That goes for every single one of us.”
