To protect what’s mine.

    Chapter 115 Amalie

“You fucking bitch! You stole my child!” Melisa screams at me. She must not be thinking straight, as she grabs the cell doors. In her angered hysteria, she does not let the door go. She instead shakes it and continues to scream at me. “That is my pup! You stole my pup! I loved her and you took her

    from me!”

Her outburst takes me by surprise for a few seconds. I had not expected her to go this route in her defense. “Enough with the caring mother act,” I snap in anger. I unwrap my legs from Cal’s waist. My yful mood has disappeared. I am pissed off at her and the audacity of her statements.

    She

e goes quiet and res at me. Melisa lets go of the cell door and ignores the burnt flesh on her hands. “You took my pup,” she tries once more.

“You never cared about Rose. She was dumped into myp the day she was brought home from the hospital. I raised her. I love her as a mother should love her child. I have taken care of her. I have protected her from you! She is mine, not yours,” I growl dangerously.

“Should have had her killed the day we brought her home,” Melisa smirks at me. “The p pathetic and worthless. Just like her adoptive mother.”

    pup is

“Don’t talk about my daughter like that!” I scream as I try to rush the cell door. Cal and Mark are able to stop me before I can even take three steps. I let out a threatening growl. I can feel Cal and Mark’s own growls, as well.

warriors at the doors. My mates and I turn to look at I do not expect the growls thate from the the warriors. The two males go red in embarrassment.

“Sorry, Luna,” the younger of the two say sheepishly as he scratches the back of his neck. He can’t meet my gaze in his embarrassment.

“Apologies, we just could not standby as she insulted you or your pup,” the older one says. “I have a pup of my own and one that I adopted after a rogue attack. Both of them are mine. It doesn’t matter to me that one is blood and the other is not. They are both my daughters.”

“Thank you,” I say with a smile. I am touched that they would defend me and my daughter,

“I think that we have spent enough time down here for the day,” Cal growls in anger at those in the

    cells.

“We’lle back tomorrow for our answers,” Mark says as he res at those locked up.

“We didn’t get any answers,“I point out with a growl.

“It’s fine love,” Cal says as he starts to direct me towards the stairs.

“We’ll let them think about the answers. After all, some of them have had a taste of what not answering does. We’ll give them the night to think about that pain and prepare for more tomorrow Mark says pointedly as he res at those still locked up.

I nod my head in defeat. I understand that we need to take a break ande backter. But I want

    my answers now, not tomorrow.

“Come on, Cal and I will take you for lunch,” Mark smiles to me.

“I like the sound of that,” I smile up at him.

“What if I told you that a witch is after your precious mate,” Jarrett calls out before we can leave.

We freeze in our tracks. It’s minute but it still happened. Both of my mates are growling. Sam and James are growling lowly as well. They put themselves between the twins and the cells..

“What do you know?” I growl in anger. I am still being led from the room.

“He’s grasping at straws. Why tell us now what we want to know? He had his chance and refused. Even when we were using the Alphamand,” Mark growls as he res at Jarrett.

“Let’s go,” Cal growls as he continues to try and get me to leave.

1 re at my mates. We are getting answers, and we are just going to leave. I sigh and try to get a grip on my anger. I know that if we stay, we lose our advantage. We are supposed to remain steps ahead of the others.

“We already knew that,” Mark says dismissively. “You have outdated information. We know and we know who the witch is.” Mark keeps leading me towards the exist.

I look at him and then to Cal. They both give nothing away as they get me to leave.

“Have fun rotting down here,” James says dismissively.

“Oh no, we aren’t going to let them rot,” Cal smirks as he looks at those locked up.

“Letting a former Gamma and his family go would cause problems for the pack. So would letting a former top warrior go. You will all be put to death to avoidpromising the pack,” Mark smiles.
