Guard 113

    Chapter 113 Amalie

James leads us down thest of the stairs. Sam and James had paused as the twins talked with me about leaving if something happened.

There is another door, this one is a metal gate style. I can the shine from the fluorescent lights off the silver ting. Two warriors are standing at attention on the other side of the door. Cal gives them a nod, and they unlock the door. I notice that they are wearing protective gloves, so the silver

    does not burn them.

“Your first priority is to get your Luna to safety,” Cal orders as he walks through the door.

The two nod their heads in understanding. The warriors give me a respectful nod as I walk through

    the doorway.

“Well, well, well, if it’s not the ungrateful wretch,” Thomas sneers as catches sight of me.

My gaze snaps towards him. He is in the first cell on the right side. Thomas looks sober, something that I have not seen in years. Forced sobriety looks rough on him, but something that he deserves.

The basement is well lit. The ce does not look like a dungeon. It is clean and modern looking. There are seven cells

on the right side and seven on the left. The cell doors are silver ted as well to keep those inside from escaping. Each person is also wearing a silver bracelet to keep them from mind linking and shifting.

My family is on one side and Sam’s is on the other. I do not see Nick’s father though. He must be kept somewhere else.

“Finally remembered us,” Marie growls from where she stands right next to the cell door. She is in the cell right next to Thomas’s.

“I never forgot,” I say, channeling all my and Beren’s confidence. “I was just enjoying my time of freedom. I mean I got to leave the pack grounds and go on a date with my mates.”

“They are not yours!” Molly screams from the other set of cells on the opposite side of the

    basement.

Sam does roll his eyes now. I catch his eye, and he offers me a small shrug as if to say, “What can I

    do?”

I don’t fight my smile. The moment we stepped foot into the dungeon, everything we did became a war tactic in getting answers. Laughing to show that I was happy and free, to show that may parents did not break me. Flirting to show that the twins are mine and no one else’s. We are in a chess match that has consequences besides losing.

    Chapter 113 Amalie

“Oh, but they are. The moon goddess has blessed me with the two of them, and not you, ismirk as L snag Calyx and kiss him.

Markuses up behind me and I spin. I am then kissing my younger mate.

“You have no shame!” Marie screams at me as Molly and Melisa are screaming at me as well. She is just the loudest.

“No, we don’t,” Mark says as he breaks our kiss. “If I had thought that my little mate would be into it, I would take her down here in front of you all.”

I refuse to turn around to show off my blush, If I blushed in front of them, it could bring our ruse down. I take a deep breath to get my emotions under control. Can’t show my blush.

“Bitch,” Melisa seethes from her cell.

“And yet this bitch is free while you are not,” I say as I turn around. I egg them on. “I am finally free while you get to remain prisoners.”

“What do you want?” Jarrett demands from his cell between his mate’s and his daughter’s cell.

“Besides the satisfaction in seeing my parents and sister finally get what they deserve?” I ask as I

    look at him.

He res at me as I hold his gaze.

“What I truly want to know is why some of the leaders of this pack are rotten? Why was the Alpha and his Gamma so against me that they had my parents lock me up? Why did the people who were supposed to love and protect me, go along with their Alpha? I also want to know why the former Delta beat his son and his mate, but Nick and his father are not here and so we will table that for a

    different day,” I growl.

Beren lets out her own growl that rumbles in my chest.

“Oh! The little bitch thinks she has things figured out,” Thomas cackles, “You think that you are so special. You are nothing but a pup pretending to be important.”

“Am I not?” I challenge back. I know that my mates want to take over control of the conversation. But I want answers, and I refuse to let them dictate the flow of the conversation.

Beren feels very smug about her status as a white wolf.

“You are some wolf that means nothing,” Jarrett growls at me.

“Yet this wolf is a white wolf and has already had a kidnapping attempt made,” I say, giving them. some information.

    Chapter 113 Amalie

“Bullshit,” Marie growls. “You are not a white wolf, we would have known.”

“When? How would you have known?” I demand. “You never saw me shift.”

“Mathew would have told us,” Jarrett growls in anger.

“How would my father have known about Amalie?” Cal growls, his anger rolling off him in waves.

“Why don’t you ask the man?” Jarrett growls smugly.

“Let’s just use the Alphamand and be done with them,” Mark growls at the group in anger.
