 Beren is about to lunge for Devin as he attempts to defend his actions. The coward thinks that he can weasel his way out of a kidnapping attempt, he is sorely mistaken.

 The more he talks, the more I want to rip out his throat. Zviad must feel the same way as he moves closer to Devin.

 “We were at war with the Vampires, and they had attacked towns that were part of my territory,” Lucas growled.

 “You do not get to justify kidnapping,” Beren growled as she followed Zviad closer.

 “Get out of our pack,” I growl, using thest of my self control.

 Devin growls at me, his wolf trying to fight to defend themselves.

 “Get out!” Zviad orders. 

 Devin flees from our sight at themand. Lucas and Harold take a step towards the pack border before they step. rk takes about ten steps before he is able to fight themand.

 “Mommy!” Rose yells as she wraps her arms around Beren’s front, right paw.

 “You okay little one?” Zviad asks as he turns around to take in Beren’s form.

 Beren hides a wince, but is notpletely sessful. Her left leg had a break in it, she should not be on her leg. Rose takes a step backwards to watch her mother.

 “Lay down and rest Beren,” I tell our mate.

 She nods gratefully andys down on the grass. Rose races back and snuggles herself into Beren’s front paws. Beren starts to lick Rose’s face. She is happy, and so is Rose.

 Zviad smirks at me, andes to lounge beside Beren. He stretches out andys beside her. Zviad is curled protectively around the

 two. 

 Beren smiles and scooches back so she is pressed against Zviad. Rose is content toy in Beren’s paws.

 “Goddess, you really are beautiful,” I tell Beren as I kneel down beside my brother and mate. I can see Beren preen at thepliment.

 “She’s a white wolf,” Alpha Harold breathes out in shock.

 I had forgotten that the other alphas, James, and Gretchen were still here. “James, will you take Gretchen inside with Rose?” I ask.

 “We go get Grandma help,” Rose says as she stands up. She races to James’s side as he assists Gretchen up.

 James nods his head. He leads Gretchen and Rose back towards the hospital.

 “A white wolf,” Lucas breathes out. “That’s not possible.”

 “What’s so special about a white wolf?” rk asks in confusion.

 Zviad growls at the clueless alpha,

 “How have you survived as an Alpha?” I ask. “You seriously can not be this

 clueless?”

 “What? So, your mate has a rare coat color,” he snarks back,

 “A white wolf is rare and powerful. Please tell me you have read about our history?” Harold seks, I know he is losing his patiences with rk,

 “Sure, I read the dumb history books,” he scoffs.

 “I bet.” I huff as 1 pet Beren’s head. She thumps her tail on the ground. I want tough at Beren acting like a dog.

 “Go read about our history,” Lucas orders. “We will talk with you about the information Devin divulged about you expanding your

 pack.”

 rk looks like he is about to protest. He must think through his response before he nods his head. “I will take my leave, I will trust that you two will make the report?” 

 “Yes, we will inform the council that Moonstone Pack did not face a coup. They are stable and healing,” Harold tells us.

 I let out a sigh of relief that I hadn’t realized I had been holding.

 rk rolls his eyes and takes off back towards the pack house.

 “I know that this goes without saying but protect her. We will continue to look into why and how your father was able to subdue the pack mind link,” Lucas tells us.

 “I have a feeling that it has something to do with your mate being a white wolf,” Harold says.

 “But that makes no sense. Amalie was locked up before she got her wolf. She was locked up before anyone had even saw what she was,” I say, he should not have known she was a white wolf.

 “We will look into it,” Alpha Harold assures us. The pair then turn and leave.

 Now it is just the three of us here. I’m jealous of Calyx and Zviad. They are snuggled up to Beren and Ama.

 ‘You know you can shift right,‘ Cal tells me through the mind link. ‘I can feel your jealousy, that means Ama can feel it.‘

 “You’re right,‘ I say, caving in. Aziz is ecstatic in shifting. We pull the fastest shift we’ve ever managed and curl up on the other side of Beren. She is now sandwiched between Zviad and Aziz, and she seems very content to just lie there with us.

 “How is your leg?” Uncle Will asks as he strolls through the garden towards us.

 “Hurts,” she growls in annoyance. 

 “Well, you probably did some damage to it in your haste to rescue Rose. You left your crutches behind and ran he

 out.

 Beren huffs as sheid her head down on her paws. I can tell she is not happy about hurting herself.

 “I’ll let you transform and then we’ll get you inside. I want to check the damage and go from there,” Uncle Will sighs, I know he is not mad at Ama or Beren, he is just mad at the situation.
