Oh Good 315

I don’t wait to hear any more, I stride from the room, nearly running into Tiana.

“Are you okay?” she asks me.

I look around, quickly pulling her into an empty room, locking the door, and pressing her against the wall, taking her mouth in a dominant kiss, burning off my anger at the councilman.

When I pull back, her eyes are ssy, and her lips are puffy.

“Sorry, I needed to take control of something,” I say, leaning my forehead against hers.

“Never, ever apologize for kissing me like that. Whenever you need control of something, I’m your girl,” she says, making me chuckle. “Do you want to talk about it?”

“Yeah, but not right now. Whiskey talk tonight?” I ask.

    “It’s a date.”

Whether she meant that seriously or not, my heart soars and I intend to count tonight as a date. My mind begins swirling with ways to get her away from the packhouse tonight so we can talk and … whatever else

    Christian

As I was working with the council members to reinterview the detainees in the cells, I felt Enya bing angry. I opened the mind link just in time to hear her tell Councilman Johnathon a litany of

positive traits about me. She didn’t seem at all bothered that I was listening in, but it was supposed to be a private conversation, so I closed the mind link again.

It was hard not to feel proud of Enya’s vehement praise. It felt good, really good, to hear her say those things about me. It would be nice to hear it from anyone, but Enya is different, my feelings for her are different. So, hearing her say those things about me made me feel like a king.

It wasn’t long after that, I felt Shane’s spike in anger. Since I knew he was being interviewed next, I know Councilman Johnathon is

questioning them about me and obviously neither Enya nor Shane is happy about it.

“Would you check on Shane for me,” I ask Sebi when I see her.

    “Sure, what’s up?”

“I’m not exactly sure, but he’s not happy about whatever Councilman Johnathon is asking him.”

“On it,” she says and walks away. I know I don’t have to worry. She’ll make sure he’s okay. The two of them are getting close quickly. I know that over the next year, I’ll be seeing a lot more of my sister. And I’m okay with that as long as it doesn’t interfere with Shane’s progression in his pack.

I’m about to go find Enya and check on her when my mother finds me.

“Christian, you need toe see this,” she says, nodding toward Shane’s office.

I follow her to the office and close the door, seeing Alpha Benjamin behind the desk rapidly typing as paperse printing out of the printer.

    “What is it?” I ask.

Alpha Benjamin looks up. “I found it. All of it. I’m printing it out for the council right now, but we’ve got them. Every one of them,” he says grinning.

“You love this,” I say, a bit surprised. It seems like boring work.

“It’s a different kind of hunt, but my wolf loves to hunt, no matter what we’re hunting.”

    “Show me.”

For the next thirty minutes he runs me through it, showing me the lines of money that he traced and the different bank ounts the money went to, including the Alpha of the pack that attacked this one.

“Do you mind going over this with Shane before you take it to the council?” I ask him.
