    “I would concur with what Alpha Christian has said. While it is very disruptive to the pack, this is very important. A pack member is dead. The pack will want justice, they will want answers. Fear could possibly take over and a frightened pack makes bad decisions. They can hurt each other just out of fear, or they could turn against their Alpha because they don’t feel protected.”


    “Okay, I agree then,” Shane says.


    “I’m going to need you and Enya helping me,” I tell him. “Do the investigators need you to walk through the finances with them?”


    “I think it will go faster if I do, but they’re picking things up very quickly,” he says.


    “That’s why they were chosen for this investigation,” Councilman Johnathon says. “And while we’re together, I will tell you that I don’t feel that Violet was part of this. I think she saw what happened to Nancy and she’s terrified. She started to open up but then she shut down again. I’ve asked Councilwoman Charlotte to speak with her and try again. Knowing that Nancy was injected with silver, her death would have been rtively slow and painful. There’s no way, knowing that she was injected, the Dorian and Corey don’t know what happened to her. If they don’t talk, that would imply guilt. Gabriel being on duty with Judith also implies guilt. Once we’re done interviewing this group, the council and investigators will need to get together and discuss our notes and next steps. I expect we’ll need to be here overnight at least one night, Alphas.”


    “We already anticipated that, Councilman. I’ll need to make sure we have rooms prepared for your drivers, but otherwise, we have rooms for everyone. Our Gamma floor is currently vacant. I’ll have some omegas make sure we have sufficient space for everyone.”


    “Since we only have three being interviewed today, I could help with the search, Alpha Christian. That would give Alpha Shane some additional time with the financial investigators.”


    “That would be great, Councilman. Let me get Enya back over here and I’ll get Braden. I’m going to make an announcement, then we can get started.”

    ‘Yes. Sebastiana wants to know if you need her as well. Dr. Charles has just about finished his autopsy on Nancy, and I have one of the investigators watching Judith for us.‘


    ‘Was there a problem?‘ I ask, instantly concerned.


    “They sedated her, and I got nervous. But Dr. Nina, that’s one of the investigators, said it was standard protocol.‘


    “Thank you for checking on that, Enya. I don’t want to lose any more pack members.”

    When Enya and Sebastiana arrive, I get Braden and call the pack to the dining hall. I send Enya and Sebastiana to watch the hallways while I meet with the pack.


    “There have been some concerning events that have happened recently in this pack. Because of that, we are doing a full pack search. You will not be allowed into your rooms until they have been cleared. I know this will be disruptive to everyone today, but we will do our best to finish this as quickly as possible. If for some reason you need to get into your room, you will be apanied by one of us and monitored during your time in your room. I suggest that you find somewhere else to be for the day. Take your pups outside and y in the sunshine, go rx by theke, anything but being in your rooms when they haven’t been cleared.
