Chapter 175
As soon as Jessica saw Chris’s expression, she couldn’t help butugh.
She nced back and saw that the video and photos were very clear, showing Matthew and Nina quite clearly, and even the hotel name was visible.
It was definitely those two.
“You’re just like Roy. Nina is already an adult. When I was Nina’s age, you and I were already married. Why is it wrong for her to go to a hotel? Matthew is quite good–looking as well. He’s just got back into the country. I’m thinking of signing him.”
She didn’t know much about Matthew. Just by looking at the photos on entertainment news, he was indeed good–looking, but you couldn’t judge just by appearance. Being together depends on whether they werepatible.
Seeing Chris fall silent, and he looked like he was going to call Nina, Jessica hurriedly stopped him,
–
“Don’t ask Nina. She’s shy. Besides, Nina is just hyping with Matthew. It’s not real – probably a suite.”
“And then? They’re not together?”
“They’re adults. They can do what they want. It’s normal for men and women in the entertainment industry to do such things and not be together.”
Chris frowned, not quite agreeing,
“I don’t care about others, but Nina is different. I’ve watched her grow up. Does Roy know?”
“Roy never cared about gossip. He probably set a keyword for Nina on his phone. When Nina just hit the trending topics, Roy called her at six in the morning. Nina didn’t even know she had hit the trending topics at that time.”
After dinner, Chris didn’t bother with his own matters anymore and instead sat on the sofa watching entertainment news, searching Matthew’s information.
He had just returned to the country, he had no fixed team, and apparently, he was even five years
younger than Nina – obviously still a kid. Being good–looking alone was useless.
Jessica sat beside Chris holding a tablet and was already discussing about signing Matthew with
Shannon.
“You don’t need to worry too much. Nina didn’t take it seriously. With Nina’s personality, no one can
really hurt her,” said Jessica.
Chris’s gaze was still fixed on the phone. He did a thorough search on Matthew.
US
“He’s too young. What can he really understand? Besides… Nina is still a girl. These scandals won’t do her any good in the future.” Chris was busy decorating the house, while Jessica sat in front of theputer making money for the
employees.
On the first day of the holiday, there was a morning meeting with people from Lonat. Shannon and Indya were both there, and Nina joined in as well. They discussed the Wilder Group’s n to expand the entertainment department and connect with FN, which now required overseas certification.
In the afternoon, the video content returned to the domestic side, with a joint meeting between the
Wilder Group and FN’s executives to choose the content for coboration and the first batch of signed
artists.
Chris happened to start putting up window decorations in the study.
In the video, Chris wore casual home clothes and gestured toward the window behind Jessica for quite a
while. Just as he was about to start sticking decorations, Indya shouted, “Sir, it’s crooked.”
Hearing that, Chris withdrew his hand.
Jessica also turned around to look.
“Didn’t I say I’d help you after my meeting?” Jessica stood up and helped Chris fix the position.
With Jessica holding it steady, Chris began putting up the decorations.
“It’s fine. You’ve had a tiring meeting. These little things, I can handle myself. Are you hungry?”
Jessica nodded. She had been in meetings since she woke up and only eaten a sandwich at noon, now
she was really starving.
But since FN’s executives were still on the call, Jessica didn’t want to cause dys.
“40 more minutes, then let’s eat together.”
–
Chris nced at the time – it was indeed time to prepare dinner.
“Alright, I’ll cook. You guys continue with the meeting.”
After saying this, he bent down and kissed Jessica on the cheek, then took scissors and tape and left.
Nina rested her chin on her hand on the other end of the line and shook her head,
“Hey, don’t show off your love like that. I’m single here – can you at least consider my feelings?”
Back in her chair, Jessica nced at Nina,
“What are you talking about? If I remember correctly,st week’s trending topic was you and Matthew Robinson, right?”
Matthew Robinson was an artist who had returned from a foreign boy band, now developing solo, with a solid fan base in Cheria but no independent studio yet.
He was really good–looking, no wonder Nina liked that type.
When Matthew’s name came up, Nina quickly waved her hand,
“Don’t mention it. I was just dragging him into the spotlight. His concert in Impelia was our exclusive release, and ourpany handled the venue promotions. It was just hype.”
“Really?” Indya seemed skeptical. “I remember the trending topic said you two went to a hotel together?”
Nina pointed at Indya. “That’s right! Because of that trending topic, my brother got mad – called me at six in the morning and woke me up. Come on, I’m an adult. Isn’t this normal?”
The Felton family was an affluent one but more open–minded about entertainment industry matters.
But Roy wasn’t.
Anyone who dared get close to his sister would definitely have a leg broken.
—
“Matthew looks very manly. I’ve seen his boy band – not really suitable for the mainstream here. Do you
think I could sign Matthew?” asked Jessica.
Nina nced at Jessica, feeling she was being intentional.
“As long as the price is right, Matthew recently spent a lot on his concert and urgently needs a boost. If your price is reasonable, he has no reason to refuse. I think you could add an endorsement deal for him to
strengthen his position domestically.”
Jessica understood this clearly.
During dinner, the TV was on, still showing entertainment news, and there were Nina and Matthew’s headlines prominently disyed.
“Is this really Nina? They went to a hotel?” Chris reacted just like Roy.
Judging by this, Chris probably didn’t know that Nina had liked him before. Jessica blinked and lowered her head. She could understand. Chris was a simple man.
Despite taking care of others thoroughly, he had a simple mind.
He saw Nina as a little sister and never considered that Nina might have other feelings for him.
Tapping on the tablet with both hands, Jessica sent all of Matthew’s information to Shannon and said casually, “Try to suppress the recent trending topics about Nina and Matthew. FN wants traffic, let’s give them a different approach.”
Shannon. “What’s wrong?”
Jessica nced at Chris with an indifferent expression. “Two men got triggered.”
Shannon. “I know Roy is definitely triggered. He doesn’t want his sister to be fooled by some young kid like Matthew. Who’s the other man?”
Jessica. “Nina’s half–brother and neighbor, Chris.”
Shannon was at a loss for words,
The half–brother not only looked into Matthew but even looked into his entire boy band. Seeing that he couldn’t find anything, he called Ashley to help.
Ashley. “Since when were you into boy bands?”
Chris. “Hurry up and help me.”
