The incident happened quite suddenly, and there were many things to take care of at work.
She had nned to go to work for a meeting today but ended up sleeping until now.
After waking up, she went to the study to check messages but found that Chris had also used theputer, and there were emails received on it.
It seemed Chris had already met with Ashley.
Jessica sat in front of theputer, deep in thought.
In fact, Ashley had been a strategic piece ced in the Summit Infirmary a long time ago, but only now was he brought into the open.
She didn’t want things to be so conspicuous or to alert the Hall family too early.
That was why she had deliberately let Ben take the position of the orthopedic directorst time.
Now that Ben was in trouble, having Ashley step up to rece him wouldn’t raise suspicion.
Jessica sighed and rested her head, feeling a bit tired.
She didn’t know when all these disputes would end.
Before the video meeting started, Chris had already woken up.
He went to the kitchen and quickly prepared something to eat, then brought it to Jessica, sitting down beside her without leaving.
“Don’t go to work,” said Chris.
Jessica nodded. “I held a video meeting to see what solutions the PR department has. Nina has already started crisis management. With both approaches, it should hold things down for a while.”
She could understand Michael’s mindset in this move.
He didn’t want to make things worse because he still needed to rely on the Wilder family, it was just a warning to Nina.
But he forgot who Nina was.
The Felton family was deeply rooted in the city.
Besides Roy, the legitimate eldest son, everyone else–both in the main and branch families- coveted the heir’s position.
But Nina, a woman, had held that position for many years without being challenged.
That spoke volumes about Nina’s ability.
Jessica rarely admired anyone, but Nina was one of those she did.
Also, since they were both women fighting in the business world, Jessica felt the same kind of sympathy for Nina.
“I’ll go to the hospitalter to check the situation. Joseph will wake up today. If he’s conscious, I’ll have Roy go take his statement. If he’s not fully conscious, the subsequent treatment will be moreplicated, and it won’t be as easy as we thought.”
It all depended on the individual’s constitution.
But no matter what, Joseph, a perfectly good person, had be a target chosen by Michael.
From both emotional and rational perspectives, it was unjustifiable.
Chris suddenly asked Jessica, “Have you ever harmed someone?”
Jessica didn’t hesitate and nodded. “I have.” She paused and then said slowly, “I’ve harmed many people, and you’re one of them.”
“That doesn’t count.” Chris smiled. “I did it willingly.”
In this position, some tactics had to be used, and there were plenty of dirty jobs that Calum
did.
Calum was Indya’s younger brother, sharing both parents and looking very simr.
He worked for Jessica but rarely came to thepany, and no one knew about their rtionship.
“But I never harm people without reason, unlike Michael, who drags innocent people into businesspetition. I’ve never done that.”
“That’s good.” Chris sighed with relief.
In the afternoon, the two separated.
Chris had only been gone for five or six minutes when someone knocked on the door.
Jessica thought maybe he had forgotten something, so she came out from the study to open the door.
“Michael?” Jessica frowned, recalling the meeting was still ongoing in the study and didn’t invite him in. “What brought you here?”
Michael looked very anxious. “I heard about the what happened at the fashion show with FN international, the inte is flooded with bad reviews. I’m worried about you, so I came to check on you.”
