“It just depended on whether Mr. Clinton could hold out Alright, we’ll talk tomorrow. I’lleter.”
Roy hung up the phone, then nced at Chris’s pale face and knew he was tired.
He led him into a private room and pushed the door ope
On the table were many dishes, seemingly just served.
Nina and Jessica sat together, both with their heads down, quietly talking.
Hearing the noise at the door, they looked up.
Jessica waved her hand. “Perfect timing. The food here isn’t great, just have a bite.”
There were four of them in total.
Looking at the table full of tes, Chris suddenly didn’t understand what “just have a bite” meant.
“How is Joseph? Is he okay?” asked Jessica.
Nina had already received a call from Edward saying his condition was stable for now but still needed to be monitored for recovery.
“Currently, his condition isn’t critical, but… his injuries are severe. He probably won’t be able to do any heavy lifting in the future. Of course, as an entertainer, he wouldn’t need to do physicalbor anyway. A conservative estimate is that it will take six months to a year to recover.”
Nina cursed inwardly.
It was rare for Nina to swear in front of Chris.
Nina always acted sweet and well–behaved in front of Chris, never showing the aura of a CEO of an entertainmentpany.
“Right now, Indya and Shannon are still having a meeting at thepany. The public opinion online can’t be controlled for the time being. There’s an overwhelming flood of criticism saying ourpany didn’t protect the artist well. Joseph’s fan base is huge, it’s difficult to handle,” Nina said angrily, taking a sip of
tea.
ording to Roy’s investigation, the fallen crystal chandelier was due to aging parts, and no other cause was found.
But the venue manager said that all decorations and chandeliers were regrly inspected, so there couldn’t be any aging parts.
ording to maintenance records, the chandelier parts had been reced two months ago.
Based on wear estimates, they definitely couldn’t have aged to the condition seen on site.
So someone must have tampered with it.
“The surveince cameras were deliberately moved. I suspect an inside man was bribed. We’re currently interrogating the security staff,” Roy said as he ate quickly.
Chris was no better off, he had been in the operating room for over 10 hours.
Even when it was not their department’s turn, he had to stay and watch.
He didn’t even dare drink much water.
Jessica had no appetite and worried Chris would starve, o she kept feeding him.
“Today I worked with Ashley, he said he was working for you,” Chris whispered to Jessica. “Looks like Ms. Wilder likes people who study medicine. You knew Ashley before you knew me.”
Jessica lowered her eyes and smiled.
Actually, that wasn’t true.
She met Ashley after Chris.
Back then, she and Chris weren’t married yet.
She only knew a little about medical students because of Chris’s identity.
From then on, after Michael went abroad, she became disheartened and took over thepany.
She immediately began looking into her father’s death, naturally tracing it back to the Summit Infirmary.
She selected a top student from medical school and arranged for him to intern at the Summit Infirmary, where he stayed for five years.
“I like you more,” said Jessica, smiling and kissing him
The young couple flirted yfully, but Roy didn’t want to watch and quickly pulled his sister to eat.
“What’s next?” asked Nina. 1
“The hospital has Chris guarding inside, but we won’t be able to find anything outside.”
“If we don’t find anything, then it’s a PR crisis. It can always be solved. Anyway, I’m not counting on convicting the Hall family because of this.” Jessica wiped her mouth and looked up at Roy.
“What do you think, Captain Felton?”
