Night.
When Hugo left the hospital, Henry’s car was already parked at the entrance.
Dressed in all ck, Hugo walked out with steady steps and a proud demeanor, perfectly
blending into the night.
Henry was sitting in the car. As soon as he saw Hugo, he quickly got out to open the door
and then got back in.
ncing at the distinguished man behind him, Henry noticed Hugo still looked a bit pale.
“Boss, are you sure you’re okay to be out like this?” Henry asked, a hint of worry in his voice.
Hugo raised his eyes and replied in a deep tone, “Can you handle it?”
Henry promptly shut his mouth and started driving.
Sitting in the back seat, Hugo’s face was serious. “How is he now?”
“Luckily, we found him in time. He should be okay for now, but there’s still a risk he might try to harm himself again,” Henry said, then muttered under his breath, “He’s really something, trying to end it all because he can’t get revenge. Kane’s in there without a scratch, yet he’s acting like it’s the end of the world!”
A cold smile crept onto Hugo’s lips.
Whether he lives or dies doesn’t matter to Hugo. What matters is getting that answer!

Hugo had informed Uncle Zhong beforeing, so he was able to enter smoothly.
Inside the empty hospital room, there was only a bed, a simple table, and a surveince
camera facing the bed.
Timy on the bed, his long face marked with bruises and swelling, his hair still a mess,
looking extremely disheveled. At this moment, however, the malice from the other day was
reced by a hint of vulnerability.
Hugo walked over to his bedside, his gaze cold as he looked at him.
If this had been a few years ago, Tim might not have even had the chance to be lying here!
Tim kept his eyes closed, curious about the silent presence, and finally opened them. Upon
seeing Hugo standing before him, his eyes instantly filled with agitation.
“It’s you!!” Tim tried to move, but his hands and feet were restrained, the handcuffs clinking
against the bed.
Hugo stared at him, as if looking at a pitiful creature, then a cold smile appeared on his lips.
Seemingly provoked by that look, Tim’s eyes widened, “Hugo, even as a ghost, I won’t let you
go.”
“Do you believe in ghosts?” Hugo asked, staring intently at Tim.

Tim remained silent, his eyes fixed on Hugo. He didn’t believe in such things, but right now, it
was the only way he could express his hatred.
“If you really believe, then feel free toe find me!” Hugo’s voice was low and raspy, a
taunting challenge.
Tim struggled against his emotions, wanting nothing more than to </ish out at Hugo. His
eyes, showing the whites, were particrly unsettling.
Hugo looked at him calmly, “I’vee to propose a deal.”
Tim suddenly regained hisposure, sneering, “A deal? Don’t even think about it. I won’t say
a word!”
“Don’t be so quick to refuse. You might find it tempting,” Hugo countered.
Tim’s eyes were filled with hatred as he stared at Hugo.
“You just need to answer a few questions. It’s simple.”
Tim remained silent.
Hugo fiddled with his phone, seemingly indifferent. “Kane Jennings might only serve a few years for what he’s done. If he behaves well, he could get out early. But if he was the one who ordered you… what do you think would happen to him?” Hugo asked.
She looked up and asked him casually, as if they were just having a chat.
Tim’s eyes widened in shock. “This has nothing to do with him! He knew nothing about it. It
was me. I wanted to avenge him!”

“Then why go after Scarlett instead ofing for me?” Hugo suddenly questioned.
Tim realized Hugo was trying to get more information out of him, so he fell silent at the
crucial moment.
“Want to know? Well, I’m not telling you!” Even though he hadn’t managed to kill Scarlett, the unexpected turn of events had made Hugo pay a price, which gave Tim a sense of
satisfaction.
Hugo raised an eyebrow. “Alright, no problem if you don’t want to talk…” He nced at the security camera before leaning in close to Tim’s ear, speaking in a voice only the two of them could hear. “You couldn’t avenge Kane, but I promise you, he will pay for what you’ve done. I’ll make sure he suffers more than he ever thought possible… You know I can do it.‘
With that, Hugo gave a gentlemanly smile and walked away.
Watching his retreating figure, Tim’s chest heaved with emotion, his fists clenched tightly.
Even if Kane was seen as a viin by everyone else, to Tim, he was the best brother he ever
had!
When everyone else turned their backs on him, Kane Jennings was the only one who didn’t.
It was Kane who made him feel like there was still a ray of hope in life.
He just wanted to avenge him, without dragging him into trouble.
As Hugo was about to leave, Tim couldn’t hold back his impulse and spoke up, “I can tell
you.”

Hugo, with his back turned, seemed to have anticipated this oue, a barely noticeable

He turned around, his gaze fixed on Tim.
Tim looked back at him, his usually sharp and intimidating face now showing a hint of
