Scarlett Adler hadpletely established herself in thepany.

Having secured the Hodges Family Group project right after joining, providing benefits to thepany, and
helping East Hayes with his surgery fees, even East Hayes had submitted to her. Those who had looked down
on her were now sincerely convinced of her abilities, and she had be a true wealthy woman in
everyone’s eyes.
Although no one knew exactly how rich Scarlett Adler was, and although they didn’t know her background,
they sensed that she was not to be trifled with. So, rather than offend her, it was better to get along with her.
Besides, Scarlett Adler was a good person.
However, Scarlett Adler was unaware of all this, as she saw it as just a job and didn’t care much about
anything else.
The next afternoon, around two o’clock, Scarlett Adler was feeling drowsy when someone came to call her.
“Ms. Adler, Manager Yan wants to see you in his office.”
Scarlett Adler didn’t think much of it, perked herself up, and went to Manager Yan’s office.
“You wanted to see me?” Scarlett Adler asked, knocking on the door.
As soon as Manager Yan hung up the phone and saw Scarlett Adler, he greeted her with a smile. “Scarlett,
Scarlett walked over and sat down.
“Here’s the thing, I have to go on a business trip unexpectedly. But we have a potential partnership with Keyue
that needs to be discussed this afternoon. I’d like you to go in my ce.”
Scarlett nodded. “Sure, no problem.”
Manager Yan was taken aback for a moment, then pushed the documents in front of her. “These are our
materials rted to Keyue. Take a good look and try to get Keyue to sign with us.”

“I’ll do my best.”
Scarlett never underestimated herself, and she never questioned the tasks assigned to her.
Manager Yan had thought he would have to do a lot of convincing, but he didn’t expect her to agree so readily, without even discussing money.
He was aware of the recent rumors in thepany, and Manager Yan couldn’t resist gossiping. “Scarlett, I heard you paid for East Hayes’ surgery?”
Scarlett nodded casually. “Yeah, I did.”
Manager Yan was speechless.
If Scarlett Adler was working for the money, she never talked about it. She gave away a million without hesitation, acting like money was nothing to her. But if it wasn’t for the money… she was indeed working diligently.
It felt like she was working just for the sake of working.
Manager Yan couldn’t figure her out, which made him a bit wary. He chuckled awkwardly, “Alright, you can go back to work. I should pack up for my business trip.”
Scarlett Adler left with the documents.
After reviewing the information, Scarlett Adler had a general understanding of it. There was nothing too difficult.
Just then, Scarlett Adler’s phone rang. Seeing an unfamiliar number, Scarlett Adler answered, “Hello, this is she.”
“Is this Ms. Adler from Rising Sun?”
“Yes, it is.”

“This is Keyue calling. We had scheduled a meeting for 4 PM this afternoon, but there’s been a change of
ns. We might have to postpone it to 6 PM. Is that okay with you?” It was a young woman on the other end
asking.
“No problem.”
“Great, I’ll send you the new address.”
“Okay, thank you.’
After a brief exchange, she hung up the phone.
Just as she was feeling extremely sleepy, a cup of coffee was ced in front of her.
Scarlett Adler looked up to see East Hayes grinning goofily.
Scarlett realized that people really do have many sides. Before this incident, East Hayes had always seemed
like a straightforward, serious guy, but now he was acting like aplete goofball. Scarlett was having a
hard time adjusting to this new side of him.
“Thanks,” Scarlett said.
“New job?” East asked.
Scarlett nodded. “Yeah.”
“If you ever need my help, just say the word.”
“I can handle it myself,” Scarlett replied.
Her confident demeanor was a bit arrogant, but East thought she had every right to be that way.
“Alright, I’ll get back to work then.” With a smile, East turned and left.
Scarlett was speechless.
Could a person really change that much?

As the workday ended and everyone went home, Scarlett prepared to head out for her appointment.
Before getting into the car, she made a point of calling William Adler, but before she could say more than a
few words, Second Adler took the phone.
“Scarlett, are you going to work at this hour? Is it a man or a woman you’re meeting?”
“There will be both men and women.”
“Whichpany is it?”
“Keyue, an investment firm.”
“Scarlett, let me tell you, as a beautiful woman, you need to be vignt at night. I’ve heard that many
You need to be careful,” Second Adler warned.
Listening to Second Adler’s words, Scarlett smiled. “Who told you that?”
“Uh, TV shows.”
“Watch less of that stuff; it’s not good for your development.”
“Life imitates art, anyway, just be careful.”
“I know.”
“Come back quickly, okay? We’ll be waiting for you.’
“Okay, I know.”
“Bye, Scarlett, love you!”

When Scarlett Adler walked in, only five or six people were seated at therge table, which was alreadyden
with food.
“Mr. Jennings, Ms. Adler from Rising Sun is here,” the hostess announced.
The people inside who were in conversation all turned to look at the entrance.
When they saw Scarlett Adler, they were stunned for a good ten seconds.
The person sitting in the middle was the first to stand up. “You must be from Rising Sun. Come in, have a
seat.”
Scarlett Adler nced around the room and walked over.
“Come, let me introduce you all. This is…” Mr. Jennings, who seemed to be the host, started to introduce her
but didn’t know how to address her.
“Scarlett Adler from Rising Sun Tech,” Scarlett Adler introduced herself.
“Yes, we originally scheduled for the afternoon, but something came up, so we moved it to now. Since
everyone is here, let’s all listen together and see what you think,” Mr. Jennings said.
The others looked at Scarlett Adler and nodded in agreement.
“Ms. Adler, a pleasure to meet you,” Mr. Jennings said, extending his hand.
“Hello, Mr. Jennings,” Scarlett Adler replied, shaking his hand politely.
“Come, have a seat,” Mr. Jennings quickly offered.
Scarlett sat down and picked up her documents. “Mr. Jennings, I’ve brought all the information.”
“No rush, no rush,” Mr. Jennings replied, then turned to someone behind him. “Pour Ms. Adler a drink. Let’s
eat and drink while we talk.”

“I’m sorry, I don’t drink,” Scarlett declined directly.
Mr. Jennings paused, then chuckled. “I forgot you’re ady. If you don’t drink, how about some tea?”
As he asked, Mr. Jennings turned to the waiter. “Pour Ms. Adler some tea.”
The waiter approached and poured tea for Scarlett.
Scarlett hadn’t attended many dinners like this. Abroad, most events were buffet-style, which she rarely
attended anyway. Faced with this situation, she instinctively became guarded.
Mr. Jennings watched the waiter pour tea for Scarlett Adler, his eyes gleaming with a strange light.
