Aurora was a little stunned. She nced at Ian, who wore the same shocked expression as hers.

Clearly, they were thinking the exact same thing.

Aurora cleared her throat lightly, trying to cover her awkwardness.

“Um… shouldn’t you take a closer look at the contract?”

Her hesitation was obvious, and Ian could hear it in her tone.

After all, she had never once heard of Daniel being this straightforward.

Inwardly, Ian couldn’t help grumbling–had Daniel taken the wrong medicine today? He was nothing like the man people talked about online.

And honestly, with this level of bluntness, it was enough to shock people for a hundred years.

Daniel scratched the back of his head awkwardly. Was he overdoing it?

But aside from acting this way, he really didn’t know what else to do.

“No need. I trust yourpany’s integrity. No problem at all–let’s just agree on a time to sign the contract.”

With a grand wave of his hand, he expressed full confidence in Walton Corporation.

Aurora, however, remained doubtful. Something about this felt too easy.

Ian, on the other hand, was grinning. If Daniel was going to be this agreeable, didn’t that just make things simpler for them?

Leaning closer, he whispered, “Miss Aurora, isn’t this a good thing for us? He’s making it convenient.”

Aurora wasn’t so sure. “Can it really be this simple?”

She couldn’t shake the worry that there might be a hidden trap.

If Joseph, who had been dealing with Daniel much earlier than she had, hadn’t secured the project, then how could it fall into her hands so easily?

“Don’t worry, Miss Aurora,” Ian said with a wave of his hand. “In this industry, his reputation matters. He wouldn’t ruin it over something small.”

Hearing that, Aurora thought it through. He did have a point.

So, she gave Daniel a polite smile. “Mr. Lewis, you’re far too kind. Let’s enjoy our meal first. I’ll have my assistant send you the contract signing date afterward.”

“Yes, yes, let’s eat,” Daniel echoed quickly, following Aurora’s lead.

Hearing her essentially agree, the weight pressing down on his chest finally lifted.

Atst, he had fulfilled the order from that powerful figure.

Aurora saw how pleased he looked, never realizing that his back was already soaked in cold sweat, as if he had just been pulled out of water.

Still, now that the matter was handled, he could finally breathe easier.

The meal went smoothly, both sides enjoying themselves.

The project matter seemed to be settled without a hitch.

Only after Aurora and Ian left did Daniel truly let out a long sigh of relief.

He raised a hand to wipe at the nonexistent sweat on his forehead, then pulled out his phone and typed a message to one of his contacts.

“Miss Walton will send me the contract signing dateter. I’d say I’ve sessfullypleted the task.”

“Will the big boss be satisfied with the way I handled it?”

After firing off the two messages, Daniel finally felt somewhat reassured.

He knew just how terrified he had been during that meal.

And the thought of actually reading through the contract–if he hadn’t worried about exposing himself, he would’ve jumped at the chance for Aurora to sign on the spot.

In fact, he hadn’t even nned on showing up yesterday.

But then the higher–ups had called, telling him he had no choice but to attend the meeting.

If he didn’t, he might as well forget about staying in the business circle.

What’s more, they had ordered him to make sure Aurora agreed to sign the deal.
