Light 1099

    Chapter 1099

    Joseph had lost all patience.

Before, he’d thought this secretary was easy on the eyes and pleasant enough to have around.

Now, she seemed like a block of wood–utterly useless, needing instructions repeated several times before getting anything done.

Seeing that he was truly angry, the secretary quickly gathered up the pieces of the broken phone and started for the door.

“Alright, sir, I’ll bring the documents over right away.

“Don’t worry, I’ll find everything in detail. If ourpany has it, I’ll make sure you get it.”

Joseph gave a curt “Mm.” He knew his ownpany well enough.

“Go get to work. I want those documents delivered to me shortly.”

The secretary nodded quickly and, before long, returned with the files.

Only then did Joseph’s expression ease slightly.

He looked at the contract he had previously negotiated with Daniel–originally set at ten percent.

Now, with Daniel demanding an extra five percent, that meant the profit would be cut from his ownpany’s share.

Which in turn meant they’d be making almost nothing, handing all the gains over to Daniel.

Thinking of this made Joseph clench his fists.

If that was the case, then even if he secured the project, all his work would have been for nothing–just making a wedding dress for someone else to wear.

    What would be the point?

His expression grew darker. Daniel’s greed was simply outrageous.

He wasn’t willing to leave the Hunt Enterprises with even the smallest share of the profit.

In a low voice, Joseph ordered, “Send someone to keep an eye on Daniel tomorrow. See if he meets with Walton Corporation.”

The secretary looked slightly surprised. “Alright, I understand. I’ll arrange it right away.”

She knew Joseph had always valued this project.

    1/3

    +15 BONUS

She just hadn’t expected things to escte to this point.

How had Walton Corporation gotten involved in the first ce?

Could it be that Daniel was now going back on his word?

The secretary couldn’t help feeling a little regret on her boss’s behalf at the thought.

She had seen firsthand how much effort her boss had poured into this project.

And now it might all go to waste. If it were her, she would be furious–possibly even with a worse temper

    than her boss‘ now.

Her gaze toward Joseph began to carry a trace of sympathy.

But Joseph was unaware of this.

All he felt was that the mess in front of him was leaving himpletely exasperated.

And on top of that, he hadn’t properly handled things with Judy.

Looking at the photos the paparazzi had sent over, his anger red even higher.

That woman had actually dared to see another man behind his back.

And they were acting so intimate–had Judy forgotten they hadn’t even broken up yet?

Was she really brazen enough to openly humiliate him like this?

    Well, she certainly had guts.

A cold, wicked smile curved Joseph’s lips, his entire presence turning intimidating.

As for Daniel, he had no intention of backing down there either.

And as for Judy, once this busy period was over, he would personally go abroad to drag her back.

If she was already acting so brazen now, wouldn’t she be even worseter?

After all, the only reason she’d been able to open that studio was because he’d given her the money and the property.

And now that she had money, she was already forgetting her roots–so this was the kind of person Judy really was.
