Chapter 1088

Three years wasted on that bastard–what did it amount to?

And now he even had the nerve to interfere with her career. Clearly, Joseph had no ce in Ravenshore.

The longer he stayed here, the more trouble he would stir up.

Just thinking about dealing with him drained Aurora’s energy.

She could have used that time to close who knew how many deals.

Time was a resource, and it had to be spent in the right ces.

In her mind, Aurora made up her mind–she was not going to let Joseph off the hook.

Whatever her reasons, this man could not remain in Ravenshore.

And as for those three years, she wasn’t about to let them go without payback.

After Ian left, he immediately began trying to arrange a meeting with the partner for the southern plot ofnd.

The man might have his unpleasant quirks, but Aurora had been right–what did that have to do with them?

Their only concern was doing their job well and figuring out how to get the project out of his hands.

Anything else was the man’s private life, and not their business.

Once Ian thought about it that way, his worries eased.

He dialed the number straight away, but at first, the line was engaged.

Then it turned to a busy signal, and finally the call was cut off altogether.

He stared at his phone screen, frowning. That didn’t make sense–why wouldn’t the man pick up?

Could it be that it wasn’t during his working hours?

The thought crossed his mind, but Ian quickly dismissed it.

With someone of that stature–far above the reach of ordinary people like them–a phone was far too important a lifeline not to keep close at hand.

If someone needed to reach them in an emergency, they could be contacted right away.

But now, after several calls in a row went unanswered, Ian realized something was off.

Was the man deliberately avoiding his calls?

The next time he tried, the phone went straight to voicemail.

Ian took a deep breath, his expression darkening.

After all, he was a representative of the Walton Corporation.

For the other party to treat him like this, offering not the slightest courtesy, was insulting.

If that was the case, why should he keep throwing himself at someone who clearly didn’t want to respond?

He was about to vent his frustration and head over to Aurora toin.

But as he rose from his seat, something made him pause.

He had just been with her earlier, and her words had struck a chord.

And now, so soon after, was he really going to back down over something this minor?

Taking another deep breath, Ian sat back down and began searching online for the partner’s assistant’s number.

If direct contact wasn’t working, then it would be better to make an appointment through official channels.

That way, if anyone looked into itter, they would have a legitimate exnation.

When the secretary answered Ian’s call, she sounded slightly surprised.

    “Hello, may I help you?”

Ian didn’t hesitate. “I’m calling from the Walton Corporation.

“I just wanted to let your manager know–when he has a moment, could he please return our call?”

The secretary took note of the message and nodded. “Alright, don’t worry. Once our boss returns, I’ll be sure to pass it along.”
