Harold’s voice carried a note of concern. “You alright? She’s just a woman–you don’t need to overthink it.”

He paused, hesitating. “Look, if she really doesn’t want to be with you anymore, that’s fine. I can find

    someone else for you.”

    “No need. Thanks, Dad.”

With that, Joseph ended the call.

He stared at the photo on his phone, pinching the screen to zoom in again and again.

There was no doubt about it–the Judy who used to look at him with all her attention could now wear that

same obedient, demure expression for someone else.

A sudden wave of irony hit him.

If that was the case, what did all her past promises mean?

Hadn’t she sworn she would love him for the rest of her life?

And because of her one request, he had fought tooth and nail against Walton Corporation.

But now? This woman had so ruthlessly abandoned the studio and flown overseas without a second

    thought?

“Heh… well done. Really, well done.”

Joseph couldn’t help pping his hands in mock apuse.

So, what did all his efforts mean now?

Had all the good he’d done for her been for nothing?

He slowly rose to his feet, walking to the floor–to–ceiling window and staring out at the bustling traffic

    below

In that moment, he found rity–he knew exactly what his next step would be.

“Alright. If you choose to be heartless, then don’t me me for being ruthless.”

A slow smile spread across Joseph’s face, the corners of his lips curling upward.

Far away overseas, Judy stood amid the lively bustle of the banquet, yet she felt an emptiness in her heart, especially with the unsettling sensation of being watched.

The feeling made her shiver involuntarily.

She rubbed her arms, unable to shake the unease in her chest.

Keh, having seen off the other distinguished guests, noticed something was off about Judy’s

    expression.

She looked as if she had something heavy on her mind.

He ced a hand on her shoulder and asked softly, “Darling, what’s wrong?

“Your face looks a little pale–are you feeling unwell?”

Judy felt a trace of warmth at his concern.

She truly hadn’t chosen the wrong man this time.

But even so, she couldn’t ce all her hopes on one man.

In the end, men were only stepping stones.

They were her means to climb higher.

No one was truly reliable–she could only rely on herself.

“I’m fine. Your matters are more important, go take care of your business.”

She gave Keh a faint smile, showing she really was all right.

And at a banquet like this, even if something was wrong, she would push through it.

    But Keh’s expression turned serious.

“Your face already looks pale. Even if I have work, how could I be at ease? Of course you’re more important. Work and money can always be earned back, but there’s only one you.”

Judy parted her red lips slightly, surprised at his reply.

From a woman’s perspective, that was truly the perfect answer.

She shook her head. “I’m really fine. I just feel inexplicably uneasy–maybe I haven’t been resting welltely, too tired.”

“All right then. Once we get back, let’s go for a massage first.”
