Chapter 1056

And it would only make Grace treat Aurora even worse.

Because in that case, Grace would think Aurora had been prompting him to speak on her behalf.

But in truth, it was nothing like that.

Seeing this, Jason could only feel helpless.

It turned out that no matter what had happened, it couldn’t outweigh Grace’s personal favoritism toward certain people.

    Just like with Tessa.

Even when the person who had hurt Aurora was right in front of her, Grace would still do something that hurt one child just to protect the one she favored.

The thought made Jason find it almostughable.

When he arrived at Aurora’s office, he saw her through the ss, bent over and writing intently.

He knocked on the door, and without looking up, she said, “Come in.”

Hearing her voice, Jason stepped inside.

“Miss Walton, the chairwoman wants to see you,” he said respectfully.

Jason had nothing but respect for Aurora.

He genuinely admired her–not only was she capable, but she also treated her subordinates with sincerity.

On top of that, she had remarkable determination and a willingness to work hard.

In the past, even when shareholders had made cutting remarks about her, Aurora had never lost her temper, always maintaining a pleasant andposed demeanor.

When she spoke to them, she could debate with logic and reason without ever bing hot–headed.

After hearing Jason’s words, Aurora instinctively looked up. “What does she want with me?”

    She was puzzled.

Hadn’t Grace just spoken to her not long ago?

Why call her in again now?

Could it be that something with the Hayes family hadn’t been handled properly?

Jason shook his head, indicating he didn’t know.

“Miss Walton, you should go over yourself. I honestly don’t know what this is about.”

Hearing that, Aurora had no choice but to make the trip.

Since Jason was just the messenger, there was no point in making things hard for him.

Besides, this was between her and Grace–there was no need to drag him into it.

She gave a slight nod. “Is it urgent?”

Jason thought for a moment. “It’s best if you go now.”

Aurora nced at the papers on her desk, hesitation flickering in her eyes, but in the end, she stood up to go find Grace.

Whatever it was, she needed to see for herself. Sitting here overthinking it wouldn’t help.

“Alright, I understand. I’ll head over in a bit.”

Once Jason had delivered the message, he finally felt relieved.

It was clear the rtionship between mother and daughter was bing increasingly strained–nothing

    like it used to be.

After he left, Aurora quickly straightened the contracts on her desk.

She noticed that Hayes Enterprises had been draining Walton Corporation dry for years. The projects tied to them had barely returned any profit at all.

That was exactly why she saw no reason to keep working with the Hayes family.

What was the point of holding on to apany that took and never gave back?

Keep them around just to irritate herself?

The thought alone made her scoff.

But it didn’t matter–once she showed these documents to Grace, she would surely understand.

Then the cooperation with the Hayes family could be terminated quickly.

And once that happened, Julian would be thest thing she’d have to worry about.
