Joseph’s voice turned even colder. “I said throw it away. Did you not hear me?”

That was all it took for the caretaker to realize he wasn’t joking in the slightest.

She nodded quickly, flustered. “Understood, sir. Please don’t be upset, I’ll get rid of it right away.”

She had no idea what had triggered him this time.

Just a moment ago, everything had seemed fine, and now suddenly he was snapping again.

Still, she didn’t dare argue with him. She was just a worker–nothing more.

If the master of the house didn’t want the supplements, then it wasn’t her ce to keep them.

Joseph watched her retreating figure, finally feeling his temper settle a little.

It was obvious to him now–Aurora hadn’te out of concern.

She just wanted to see him humiliated.

Why else would she show up with Lucas and leave a bunch of expensive things behind?

    Wasn’t that just mocking him?

There was no way he’d ept it.

Some pride, at least, needed to be preserved.

Now that his memory was back, he wasn’t going to y the fool anymore.

Meanwhile, the caretaker stood by the garbage bin, looking down at the luxury goods with clear

    reluctance.

What a waste to throw them away.

And since Joseph was being discharged soon, she figured they’d have no further connection.

    Might as well keep them.

Smiling to herself, she quietly tucked the items away. No way was she handing them over–she’d hang onto them for herself.

Feeling quite pleased, she went back inside and cheerfully helped pack up Joseph’s belongings.

When she was done, she snapped a photo and sent it to Judy.

    Her task officiallyplete.

Joseph noticed but didn’t say a word.

Everyone was just trying to make a living. He understood that well enough.

Right now, what mattered was getting back to thepany–he had a lot to take care of, and fast.

Now that Aurora was awake, she posed a real threat to hispany.

Joseph knew he couldn’t sit around and wait for things to fall apart any longer.

    And then there was Judy.

He couldn’t shake this uneasy feeling in his chest.

He didn’t know why, but it felt like something had quietly slipped through his fingers when he wasn’t paying attention.

Something he couldn’t name, only that it left an odd emptiness inside him.

While he was lost in thought, the caretaker returned.

Seeing him looking so absent and dazed, she flinched slightly.

Crap. Was he upset over those supplements?

Seriously? In this day and age, did people still care about that kind of thing?

Especially someone like Joseph, from a wealthy family–surely, he wasn’t that petty.

Just as she was worrying herself sick over it, Joseph spoke. “Help me pack. I’m leaving this afternoon.”

“Oh, yes, of course,” she replied quickly, breathing a sigh of relief.

    Thank god.

So, he wasn’t going to make a fuss.

Clearly, she’d just been overthinking it.

As she packed, Joseph silently watched her from behind, but his thoughts were consumed by Judy.

Why wouldn’t she sit down and talk to him properly?

She’d hired a caretaker for him, hadn’t she?

That had to mean he still held a ce in her heart.

    Joseph couldn’t ept it.

On the way out of the hospital, he made a sudden turn and headed straight for the apartment he’d given
