“Since you know you were wrong,”
Judy’s voice rang out with certainty. “Then let’s call the police. I’ll ell them everything in detail.
“And I’ll also make your actions known across the industry. When that happens, you’ll be cklisted everywhere.
“Even if you get out, you won’t find a job like this again.”
At those words, the crowd around her burst into apuse and cheers.
This was exactly how someone like him should be dealt with.
“I’m with Miss Judy on this one!”
“Exactly, she just had bad luck running into someone like him.”
“I honestly have no idea how he even got into management. I think I’m morepetent than he is.”
“Right? It’s not just about not knowing how to treat people–he wasn’t even that great at his job.”
“Seriously, how did Miss Judy even pick him in the first ce? And she trusted him so much.”
“That’s like giving your loyalty to a dog.”
Listening to the voices around him, Brian was stunned.
So, this was what his coworkers really thought of him.
All along, he’d assumed he had a decent reputation.
After all, everyone always seemed respectful, always calling him “Mr. Brian” with polite tones because everyone knew Judy valued him highly.
That was why they treated him with deference.
Their attitude toward Brian had always reflected Judy’s.
As long as Judy valued him, everyone would try to stay on his good side.
Her position in their eyes still held weight,
After all, she was the boss and that meant everything.
In that moment, Brian truly felt a wave of sorrow,
He never imagined that after working so hard for so long, he would end up as nothing.
To everyone else, he’d always just been an unremarkable nobody, omeone they didn’t even care for.
That thought alone made Brian feel utterly pathetic.
He pointed to his chest and said to Judy, “I’ve been by your side for so long. Even if I haven’t done much, I’ve at least worked
hard.
“Do you really think I meant nothing to you at all?”
Somewhere in his heart, Brian still clung to a sliver of hope.
He wanted Judy to remember their past partnership and show him some leniency.
If she did, maybe he wouldn’t have to go to prison.
Maybe he could even stay and continue managing the studio a perfect oue, wasn’t it?
But with just one look, Judy could already see right through what was thinking.
She couldn’t help but find itughable.
So, this was really how some men thought?
How had she not noticed it before?
Judy voiced her thought aloud without holding back, “Don’t tell m… you actually think there’s still something between us?”
Brian didn’t quite understand what she meant.
He hesitated and said, “Isn’t there? I mean, I was your most reliable business partner, wasn’t I?
“We went through so much together. That can’t have meant nothing, right?”
Judy nearly burst outughing.
And others around them couldn’t hold it in–they startedughing too.
At first, they just thought Brian was a little slow, but now they saw it clearly–he was nothing but aplete clown.
Even now, after all that, he still thought Judy might forgive him?
How ridiculous.
Keh listened to Brian ramble on and couldn’t help but feel bored.
