The chief raised his hand. “Someone’sing soon anyway. Once they arrive, those two won’t be a problem anymore.”

    “Who’sing?”

    The officer was curious.

With the way those two went at each other, it was like throwing gasoline on a fire–was there really anyone who could get them under control?

The chief nodded. “I’ve already contacted their families. They’ll be here shortly. As for whatever drama is going on between them, just ignore it for now.”

    “Got it, understood.”

There was a rare hint of cheer in the officer’s voice

Clearly, as long as he didn’t have to deal with those two, his day would go just fine.

The two of them really did have a talent for driving people insane.

Working this shift, the officer felt more and more frustrated.

The chief waved his hand, signaling for him to leave the office.

The officer nodded and stepped out.

As he left, he thoughtfully closed the door behind him, giving the chief a moment of quiet.

He knew better than to disturb him now.

It was obvious these past few days had left the chief utterly worn out.

Even just looking at him, he seemed to have aged a good ten years.

Once the door clicked shut, the chief leaned back in his chair and finally let out a breath.

Now, all he had to do was wait for the two parents to arrive.

These two had been nothing but a headache since they got there.

The entire station had been on edge because of them.

Handling those two was harder than catching actual criminals.

But finally, the end was in sight.

Soon, Grace and Albert would arrive.

Two luxury cars pulled up, one after the other, in front of the Ravenshore Police Department.

As Grace stepped out of her vehicle, she happened to see Albert getting out of his.

The moment their eyes met, it was like sparks crackled in the air.

Grace’s gaze locked onto his sleek ck car.

“Well, look who it is,” she said with a mocking tone

As luck would have it, they had even arrived in the exact same car model.

    Grace’s expression darkened further.

Albert was as much of an eyesore as ever.

But Albert acted as if he hadn’t noticed her re at all. His tone remained respectful.

“Madam Grace, what a coincidence, running into you here.”

Grace almost rolled her eyes on the spot.

The reason they were both here couldn’t be more obvious.

And yet he had the nerve to say “what a coincidence‘ like this was some casual encounter.

“Well, you’ve always had thick skin, haven’t you?”

This time, Grace didn’t bother being polite–she’d torn the mask right off.

There was only one way to deal with people like Albert: don’t give them an inch.

    Otherwise, they’d just keep pushing.

She’d long since seen through the man’s act.

No matter how well he tried to disguise it now, it was useless.

She knew exactly what kind of person he was.

And for that reason alone, she had no intention of backing down from him.

Albert, however, just chuckled cheerfully. “I’ll take that as apliment.”

The sight of his smug expression made Grace’s skin crawl.

What was wrong with this man?

She opened her mouth to speak, but someone suddenly cut in.

“You must be Madam Williamson and Mr. Hayes?”

A bright, upbeat voice called out.

Both of them turned instinctively toward the sound
