    He looked a little less cold and defiant, and a little more gentle and obedient.


    Everyone had noticed it.

    But right now, the only thing he could do was stay by her side.


    He honestly hadn’t figured out what else he could do.


    He noticed the room was getting a bit dim, so he opened the curtains and cracked the window for some fresh air.


    What he didn’t realize was that this simple act gave Julian much more freedom of movement.


    Lucas hadn’t even considered that.

    Just as Lucas was about to climb into bed and hold Aurora, someone knocked on the door.
