She was almost certain he’d done it on purpose.

And once that thought sank in, the way Megan looked at Leonardpletely changed.

    BAL

Leonard just kept smiling innocently, throwing out the asional ab at Lucas, relying on his solid professional skills to make up for everything else.

But when it came to emotional intelligence- he was seriouslycking.

Even if he really didn’t know the truth, this wasn’t something he should’ve said out loud.

If this got out of hand, none of them were getting out of here easily

Megan tugged at Leonard’s sleeve, giving him a pointed look, silently warning him to stop talking.

“We’re still in a foreign hospital, you know. What good does it do for you to say something like that?”

At this point, Megan didn’t bother sparing Leonard’s pride.

No matter what, between Leonard and her cousin, she would always side with Lucas.

Theughter and jeering around them didn’t faze Lucas in the slightest.

He just stood there, unmoved, without making a scene.

He knew better than to waste words on people like this.

Engaging with them would only drag the conversation and his IQ down.

Lucas wasn’t about to stoop to that level.

Just then, as the crowd buzzed with chatter, a group of doctors in white coats rushed over from down the hall.

In the center, they surrounded an elderly man with white hair.

Even from a distance, it was clear this man wasn’t ordinary.

But when those who recognized him got a good look, the reactions were instant.

“No way… is that really our hospital’s director?”

“Of course it is! Look at the watch and bracelet on his wrist–they’re this year’s limited editions.”

At that, everyone turned to look at the old man’s hands.

And with his presence andposure, the entire crowd suddenly fell into stunned silence.

Could it be that the man hadn’t been bluffing after all.

He really had called the hospital director? Was that his version of filing aint?

The moment that realization hit, the entire crowd fell silent.

This was a hospital, after all.

Their own family members were still receiving treatment here.

If they offended the director, who knew what might happen next?

    Panic quickly spread among them.

If they were caught now, it’d be mortifying.

A few people turned around to leave quietly, but they were immediately stopped by the people Lucas had brought with him.

    There was no way out.

No one was getting away today.

Anyone who had insulted Aurora would have to answer for it, one by one.

Lucas was going to make sure of it.

    These people needed a lesson.

Otherwise, they’d never learn. They’d only keep repeating the same behavior.

The hospital director spotted Lucas immediately and approached with respectful haste.

“Mr. Lucas, my sincerest apologies. This incident was indeed a failure on our hospital’s part,” he said politely.

“Please rest assured, I will personally see to it that everyone involved is thoroughly investigated.”

As he finished speaking, the director nced meaningfully at the surrounding crowd.

    Everyone exchanged uneasy looks.

Finally, they understood and scattered like startled birds.

Sticking around any longer would be a bad idea.

And from the director’s look alone, if they didn’t get the message, they really were hopeless.

Before Leonard could even process what was happening, the entire crowd had vanished.

What none of them realized, however, was that the director’s assistant had been quietly recording everything.

Later, they would cross–check every face and find each person.

The crowd hadpletely overlooked that part.

As they left, some were even patting themselves on the back, thinking they’d dodged a bullet.
