Chapter 609

That would make it seem like she was clinging to him all the time, when in fact, she wasn’t.

Tessa had her own life and priorities.

There was no way she’d waste her time hanging on to a man.

What aplete waste that would be.

“Alright, I actually have something serious to talk to you about.”

Julian steadied his breathing, then responded in that deep, velvety voice of his,ced with just the slightest rasp. “Alright, tell me, what is it, baby?”

Tessa had always had a thing for his voice–low, smooth, with a husky undertone that sent a tingle down her spine.

So, when he called her “baby” again and again, she couldn’t help

Her thoughts wandered, her mind slowly slipping out of focus.

“I was going to say… I’m heading overseas soon.”

    “Want me toe with you?”

Her eyes lit up. “This was exactly what I was hoping you’d say.”

Traveling alone made her feel boxed in, like she’d be second–guessing every step she took.

But with Julian by her side?

That changed everything. He could handle almost anything and keep herpany.

It was like hitting two birds with one stone.

Julian nodded, though there was still a hint of curiosity in his tone. “What’s going on? Why the sudden trip?”

He wasn’t against the idea at all and just wanted to know what prompted it.

    Not that it mattered.

As he spoke, his gaze drifted slowly to Lily tied up in the corner.

She was bound tightly, gag stuffed in her mouth, pletely silent

After what had happenedst time, Julian had taken extra precautions.

He wasn’t about to make the same mistake again.

And as for Tessa–there was no way he was letting that woman go

She was someone who could actually help his career.

So, letting her go now would be foolish.

What was he supposed to do afterward?

Men were always like that–forever trying to have it all.

Hearing Julian’s voice, Tessa began recounting everything she had overheard at Grace’s ce.

Sheid it all out in detail, then added her own spection. “I brought it up to my mom a while back. My guess is, she called Lucas not long after that.”

“I figured as much,” Julian replied.

Tessa lowered her voice slightly. “After that, she stopped respond to me. I’m guessing Lucas must’ve said something that made her start to doubt me.

“If I hadn’t heard it for myself today, I wouldn’t have even known Aurora had been moved overseas for treatment.”

Julian caught on quickly, following her train of thought with case. So, all we need to do is follow Megan, and we’ll know exactly where Aurora is?”

    “Exactly!”

Tessa’s tone brimmed with pride. “That’s why I chose you. You get it right away.”

Julian couldn’t help but feel a little pleased by the praise.

“So, will you go with me or not?”

Tessa pouted slightly, voice turning soft and coaxing.

“Of course I will. How could I say no when my girl asks?”

“I knew you’d be the best,” Tessa said sweetly.

“Don’t worry, I’ll send someone to tail Megan, see where she’s booked her flight.”

Julian gave a serious nod, and with that, they ended the call.
