Chapter 555
The executive nodded as well. “The person inside is ourpany’s general manager. I came along to check on her condition too.
The foreign doctors exchanged nces, unsure how to handle the situation.”
After all, they had only been brought in today, and they weren’t familiar with many aspects of the situation, especially when it came to personal rtionships–they werepletely in the dark
If they ended up offending the wrong person, it could affect their jobs.
One of the doctors finally said, “Alright, I’ll go inside and ask our employer.”
Tessa nodded quickly. “Of course, we’ll wait here. Juste out as soon as you can.”
The doctor gave a small nod and turned to go ask for Lucas‘ input.
After all, the one paying their fees was the man inside.
They knew who their real client was.
These two outside had no real connection to them.
Even if they made a mistake and wasted some time, it would be better than driving out the person actually footing the bill.
Inside the room, Lucas stood at Aurora’s bedside, watching as one of the doctors inserted a needle into her arm.
His heart ached with every movement.
Aurora had suffered so muchtely.
If she could just wake up safely, he would take care of her for the rest of her life.
He wouldn’t let anything hurt her again.
Gripping her hand tightly, he pressed the back of it to his face, unwilling to let go.
The doctors inside were beginning to sweat.
This was the first time they’d encountered such a difficult situation, and they had no idea how to proceed, especially under the pressure of the man at the patient’s side–his presence alone made them hesitant.
Standing nearby, Keh felt the tension too.
What was wrong with these people?
Weren’t they supposed to be world–ss experts in cardiovascr research?
So why, in front of Aurora, did they all seempletely helpless?
Watching this scene,
Keh couldn’t help feeling frustrated himself.
He was starting to panic.
At first, he hadn’t really nned on letting these doctors fully treat Aurora.
But now, seeing that she wasn’t showing any reaction at all, he was genuinely beginning to feel afraid.
Originally, he’d hoped the doctors could at least elicit some kind of response–something that would convince Lucas a little
more.
But looking at the situation now, Keh realized he might have seriously messed things up–maybe even beyond repair.
In the corner, Wendy stood silently, ying the role of an invisible bystander.
She didn’t dare make a sound, afraid Lucas might notice her.
And if that happened, she’d be the first one thrown out.
Having her removed would be the easiest thing for him to do.
If she really got kicked out, there’d be nothing she could do.
That thought made Wendy even more terrified to speak.
She knew exactly what kind of temperament Lucas had.
If he told her to leave in front of all these people, she would bepletely humiliated.
How would she ever show her face again, especially after iming to be the heiress of the Shaws?
All she could do now was pray she didn’t embarrass the Shaws any further.
Lucas, at this moment, had no time to spare for either Wendy or Keh.
