Chapter 524

“Besides, Lucas is still at the hospital. Now’s the perfect time to apologize. Don’t dy any longer.”

They still had to arrange for doctors, and time was running short.

Wendy had just opened her mouth to protest when she caught sight of her brother’s stern, manding expression.

She clicked her tongue in frustration but eventually followed obediently behind him.

For the sake of the Shaws family, she had to do this.

It was just an apology–nothing she couldn’t handle.

With that, her mindset shifted, and she steadied herself.

Before heading to the hospital, Keh made sure they stopped to buy several high–end nutritional supplements.

Whether or not Aurora could eat them now, the point was to make an effort–appearances mattered when visiting a patient.

He didn’t skimp–anything that looked remotely important, he bought it.

The two siblings hurried to First Light Hospital.

On the way, Keh had already contacted a team of doctors from overseas.

He didn’t dare waste a second.

He was pushing everything forward at full speed.

In fact, they were moving so quickly that Keh even bought a car on the spot.

As he drove them toward the hospital, his urgency got the better of him.

In a tightne, the car sideswiped another vehicle.

Wendy gasped, her eyes wide, frozen in the passenger seat.

What happened to theposed, cautious brother she remembered?

How had he be so reckless?

Keh looked at the scrape, his irritation boiling over.

“Just great,” he muttered under his breath. “Could I be any unluckier?”

Still, he took a deep breath topose himself and prepared to deal with the situation.

In his mind, as long as it could be settled with money, it wasn’t really a problem.

That was how he handled things–quick, clean, done.

He grabbed his wallet and stepped out of the car.

As Judy stepped out of the car, her mood was already foul.

How could someone just crash into her out of nowhere?

What the hell was this mess? She was on her way to meet a client, or crying out loud.

Thanks to Josephying low recently and not pestering her, she finally had time to expand her businesswork.

And it was showing–she had bought herself a new car, upgraded her entire wardrobe, and was walking like a boss now.

After all, the woman she was today was nothing like who she used to be.

Time was money, and anyone who wasted hers?

They were going to get an earful.

But just as she stepped out and opened her mouth to speak, she saw a man storming over, looking annoyed, wallet in hand.

Before she could say a word, he shoved the wallet straight into her arms.

“Take these two thousand dors to fix your car.”

Without waiting for a reply, Keh turned to leave.

He was still rushing to the hospital, and his overseas firm was waiting for him to get back.

Every second he lingered here felt like time bleeding out of his schedule.

He didn’t even know how Lucas was doing, and just the thought of it soured his expression further.

Wendy, already a grown woman, had left this mess for him to clean up like she was still twelve.

    But Judy’s reaction was swift.

She hurled the cash right back at him, her voice sharp and icy.

“What the hell kind of attitude is that? You were the one who hit my car, and now you think you can just throw money at me without even an apology? You really think everyone’s desperate for your dirty money?”
