So, he really was here to see Aurora.

Could he be their general manager’s grandfather?

Ian nodded. “Yes, our general manager is in this room.”

Arnold finally broke into a smile. “General manager?”

    “You work for Walton Corporation?”

    Ian was even more surprised.

He didn’t expect the old man to recognize the Walton name

    Clearly, his identity wasn’t simple.

“Yeah… how do you know about Walton Corpo?”

Ian stood a little straighter, his tone more respectful now.

If this really was the general manager’s grandfather, hadn’t he been a little too casual earlier?

He just hoped the old man wouldn’t hold it against him.

Ian was honestly a bit nervous.

Arnold seemed to notice his concern and chuckled. “Don’t worry. I’m family, you could say. I came to check on Aurora.”

With that, he moved to step inside. “Step aside. I want to see her.”

After all, he’d watched her grow up like his own granddaughter.

How could he not be worried?

Ian hesitated and said awkwardly, “Sir, maybe it’s better if you wait a moment?”

He remembered the intimate atmosphere inside.

If someone barged in now, wouldn’t that be an intrusion?

Wouldn’t that be a little inappropriate?

    “Why? Why should I wait?”

    Arnold frowned.

Aurora was right there, and yet he wasn’t allowed in?

Evenn was standing outside. It puzzled him.

What did these people mean by all this?

Ian looked at Arnold’s firm expression and, in the end, didn’t know how to respond.

He was just the kind of person who listened to advice and got by–nothing special or ambitious.

Faced with someone as shrewd as Arnold, Ian really did feel a bit out of his depth.

So, he steeled himself and simply spilled what had just happened inside.

“Actually, the general manager is in there with her husband. If we go in now, we’d be interrupting the mood.” Hearing that, Arnold waspletely speechless,

“Seriously? And you call yourself a staff member here? If I weren’t in a good mood, I’d show you what real discipline looks like.”

Just this little issue, and he’d really let those two stay in the room alone?

If anything happened in there, all the effort they’d made earlier would be for nothing.

The thought made Arnold’s expression turn grim.

“Step aside. If something goes wrong, can you take responsibility for it?”

Ian didn’t really understand, but he moved out of the way without protest.

    After all, Arnold was right.

He really couldn’t afford the consequences.

Still, that man inside, wasn’t it Lucas?

    Wasn’t he Aurora’s husband?

Why would he do anything inappropriate?

The more he thought about it, the less sense it made.

    Maybe Arnold had misunderstood something?

But seeing the seriousness in Arnold’s expression, Ian didn’t dare say a word.

    He obediently let him through.

Since Arnold was technically family to the general manager letting him in was like siding with her.

As for the man inside, that was a separate matter.

He reminded himself of his role–he was with Aurora’s side. That couldn’t change.

His loyaltyy firmly with her, and he wouldn’t allow anyone to hurt or defy her.

With that thought, everything suddenly made sense.

He would let Arnold go in–he was one of theirs.

Letting him in wasn’t betrayal. It was the right thing to do.
