Chapter 500

Lucas narrowed his eyes and nced impassively at Leonard standing nearby.

Thetter immediately caught on to what Lucas meant.

Without hesitation, Leonard stepped forward and pocketed the cash–stuffed envelope like it was the most natural thing in the world.

Wendy stood wide–eyed beside them, still not quite used to how things worked in this circle.

While the three were discussing why Aurora still hadn’t regained consciousness, Lucas remained seated alone, his gaze absentmindedly fixed on Aurora lying in bed.

So, those two calls were cries for help. It was him. He didn’t hear them..

At that thought, Lucas took a deep breath, grabbed Wendy, and dragged her out of the room.

Startled, Wendy cried out, “Ah! Lukey, what are you doing?”

“Let go of me! Aurora is still inside! Don’t do this in front of her, it’s not right…”

Hearing that, Leonard rolled his eyes and muttered, “Shameless.”

    Ian looked equally embarrassed.

He hadn’t expected Aurora’s husband to be that kind of man.

His wife was still unconscious, and yet he was dragging another woman out. Even when he came to the hospital, he brought another woman with him.

Ian and Leonard exchanged a look.

Compared to Lucas, Leonard suddenly looked much more decent, maybe even a better match for Aurora.

Hearing Wendy say things that could be easily misinterpreted only made Lucas more furious.

    “Get over here!” he snapped.

Seeing his anger, Wendy had no choice but to drop her smile and speak more seriously. “What is it, Lukey? I was just surprised. Why did you pull me out here?”

    “Get lost. Right now!”

The veins on Lucas‘ temple pulsed violently.

He looked nothing like his usual aloof self–more like an entirely different person.

Wendy spoke timidly, “Why are you asking me to leave again? Lukey, she still hasn’t woken up, I’m worried about her too. I’m not leaving!”

She suddenly lost her temper and sat down on the bench, pretending to be upset, thinking it might soften Lucas‘ attitude.

    But it didn’t work.

Lucas only found her even more fake.

    “You’re leaving. Right now.”

He pointed toward the hospital exit with his long finger. “And you’d better move out as soon as possible. If you don’t, I’ll have your brothere and take you back.”

With that, he turned and walked straight back into the ward.

    Aurora néeded him now.

There was no way he’d leave her at a time like this. He needed to be by her side, especially with Leonard in there, watching closely, he couldn’t let that man stay alone with her.

Aurora was his wife. That was an undeniable fact.

Wendy froze, </bpletely stunned by his outburst, her mouth hanging open as she stared at his back, unable to speak.

She was genuinely afraid now. Lucas wasn’t joking.

It was clear that she really was being kicked out of this house.

From now on, even if she wanted to keep tabs on Aurora, it would no longer be possible.

Because of that dinner, Wendy finally understood what it meant to shoot herself in the foot.

If it hadn’t been for that meal, none of this would’ve happened.

She wouldn’t have touched Lucas‘ phone either.
