Chapter 497
The nurses and doctors had initially nned to intervene, but the moment they recognized the faces, they hesitated.
These two weren’t just anyone–they were both well–known figures in the hospital.
Hearing themotion outside,n grew increasingly irritated.
Aurora was still unconscious, and now the hallway sounded like a street brawl.
What kind of hospital was this, anyway?
He flung the door open, ready tosh out, but the words caught in his throat the moment he saw what was happening.
What the hell? Why were Lucas and Leonard guing at each other like this?
And since when did these two even know each other?
Ian pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration.
“What on earth are you two doing? This is a hospital. You think this is the ce for a fistfight?”
Lucas, already nning to stop when he saw Ian at the door, took a step back.
Leonard, too, began to lower his hands.
After all, Ian was right. This was a hospital–they needed to consider others.
And more importantly, Ian worked directly for Aurora.
At the very least, they owed him some respect.
“How’s Aurora?” Lucas asked, striding forward without hesitation, anxious to hear any update.
He’d been worried the entire way over, and now, after all that chaos, he still hadn’t even seen her.
How could he not be concerned?
So much time had passed, and all he’d gotten was resistance from every side.
The thought alone made his fists clench tighter.
He turned to nce at Leonard and Wendy, struggling to hold back his fury.
But now wasn’t the time.
Aurora came first. Everything else could wait.
Ian looked at him, at a loss for how to even begin exining.
It was Leonard who finally spoke, voiceced with sarcasm. “So, you really are useless. You don’t even know whether your own woman is awake or not. What good are you as a man?”
“Shut your mouth. I wasn’t speaking to you.”
Lucas‘ presence was overwhelming, silencing everyone in the room.
Evenn felt a chill run down his spine.
Was this man really just the general manager’s husband?
Thatmanding aura–he’d never seen anything like it, not ever from Grace herself.
Truth be told, not even she couldmand a room like this.
Leonard stood frozen, stunned into silence.
Wendy, on the other hand, lookedpletely unbothered.
Of course, she knew what Lucas was like behind closed doors.
If he wasn’t so afraid of being exposed and caught lying to Aurora, she wouldn’t have had any leverage on him in the first ce.
Wendy had already figured Aurora out through their time together.
She couldn’t stand being lied to.
She was the kind of woman who didn’t even tolerate a speck of deception.
And that was exactly why Lucas had kept things from her for so long because he hadn’t found the right moment toe clean.
“Y–Yes,”n finally answered, stumbling over his words. “The general manager still hasn’t regained consciousness. We don’t know why. The doctors were confident she’d wake up today.
“She was given anti–inmmatory treatmentst night.”
Lucas frowned deeply. “Still not awake?”
“No… have no idea why,” Ian replied helplessly.
Leonard, now just as anxious, stepped forward to listen more closely, hoping to get a clearer understanding of the situation himself.
