“Got It, Mom. I’ll head back now. If anythinges up, just give me a call.

Grace shed her a quick “OK” gesture, then quietly watched the two of them leave the r

Only after they’dpletely disappeared from sight did the turn back to stare nkly at the breed in front of her

She hadn’t missed the awkwardness on Aurora’s face earlier–truth be told, she just didn’t want to confrent it.

But she genuinely didn’t want her two daughters turning against each other. And at this point, she didn’t even know how to fix it.

The thought alone gave her a headache.

Both daughters were really reflections of herself.

    They were stubbom and proud.

Neither of them was willing to back down.

Otherwise, this whole situation could’ve been resolved so easily.

All it would take was for one of them to lower her head and admit fault, and the rest would fall into ce

    Grace sighed heavily.

When her assistant walked in, he caught the sound of that sigh and immediately picked up on her mood.

As her executive aide, of course he wanted to help ease her burdens.

“Madam Grace, what’s wrong? Why the heavy sigh?

Seeing it was Jason, Grace actually spoke a little more than usual

“My two daughters are too proud for their own good. This kind of temperament, ugh…”

Jason could tell right away what she meant.

But at the end of the day, this was a family matter.

No matter how much he might want to step in, he had no standing to do so.

When Grace noticed his silence, she started to feel a bit deted.

She had said so much, but he didn’t even respond–not a word offort and suggestion

That thought alone left her feeling utterly drained.

Why was she always surrounded by people who didn’t know how to talk?

Next time she had the chance, Grace was determined to do a full reset of the people around her.

“Alright, stop standing there. If there’s nothing else, go find the doctor and get my medication.”

Grace didn’t want to stay in the hospital any longer. It was a waste of time, and the treatment wasn’t doing her much good

All they ever told her was to rest and take it easy.

Nothing beyond that. No real care, nothing truly helpful.

Besides, all those so–called supplements were all things she had at home anyway

And she had enough of the constant smell of disinfectant.

Jason, however, was worried about her health.

She’d only just regained consciousness–what if something happened after discharge?

Then what? What would happen to his job? Could he even keep it?

That thought only made him more anxious.

“Madam Grace, why not stay a few more days? This really feels too risky.”

He tried again to reason with her. “You only just woke up don’t you think this is a bit too soon?”

    “I said I’m fine.”

Grace furrowed her brow. “It’s my own body. I know it better than anyone. Just do as I s

    “But…”

Jason tried once more, but Grace cut him off sharply.

“Enough, Jason. I said I know what I’m doing.”

“You don’t need to say anything else. Just handle the discharge for me.”

She turned her head away, not even bothering to look at him anymore.

What, was she no longer even able to give orders to her own employees? She knew Jason meant well, but that didn’t make her feel any better.

She’d been cooped up here long enough, and she still had no idea what was going on outside.
