Even so, Aurora merely raised an eyebrow without saying a word.
A part of her still had doubts–were these two putting on a show for her?
But she didn’t call them out.
She simply sat there, watching them trade words, silent and unreadable.
Lucas nced at her expression, that slight, amused curve of her lips, and suddenly felt unsure of himself.
Even Wendy was thrown off.
What was wrong with her today? Why wasn’t she reacting?
She had been tantly provoking her, and yet Aurora remained calm as ever?
But Aurora acted like none of it mattered, quietly enjoying the mille–feuille pancake in front of her.
Wendy asked hesitantly, “Aurora, you’re not saying anything… does that mean you agree with me?”
Lucas shot her a warning look.
He’d finally seen through Wendytely–how restless she’d be.
He had already warned her once, and yet she clearly hadn’t learned her lesson.
Nervously, he turned back to Aurora, afraid she might be upset by Wendy’s words.
“Rora, Wendy just talks without thinking. She didn’t mean anything by it, don’t…”
“Of course I’m not upset,” Aurora replied with a bright, easy smile.
“Why would I take offense? You’re the one who asked me to </be back.”
Then she looked at Wendy, her eyesced with disdain. “You said a lot just now. But this pancake? The first bite was mine.
“And your Lukey? He made it for me. You’re just an afterthought.”
With that, Aurora leisurely popped the final bite into her mouth.
Every move she made was graceful and effortless–so poised it was almost mesmerizing.
Wendy trembled with anger, speechless with frustration.
No matter what she wanted to say, she couldn’t deny the truth in Aurora’s words.
All of it–everyst detail–was indeed prepared for Aurora, even the very first bite.

The thought left Wendy feeling uneasy, especially when she met Aurora’s gaze–her confidence instantly wavered.
Seeing Wendy speechless, Aurora simply smiled and said nothing more.
After all, she’d already made her point.
There was no need to say anything else.
Lucas nced at Aurora, and deep down, he couldn’t help but agree with her.

But she rose from her seat without a word, not caring what either of them felt, and calmly made her way back to the bedroom.
The sharp bang of the door closing snapped Wendy out of her daze.
What had just happened?
How had she let that woman silence her sopletely? Her mind had gone nk, every retort she’d prepared vanishing the
moment she faced Aurora head–on.
Now all she felt was frustration and a bitter sting of regret.
Lucas ignored her entirely as he got up to clear the table.
That only made Wendy more upset. “She ate the most, didn’t she? So why is it you who’s cleaning up, Lukey?
“She just waltzed into the room like a queen and dumped everything on you!”
But Lucas defended Aurora without hesitation. “I did it because I wanted to. And one more thing. If you keep provoking her, I’ll call your brother to take you home.”
“What?!” Wendy screeched, outraged. “She’s the one who was out of line, so why are you taking her side?”
Lucas‘ eyes narrowed, his voice turning cold. “If you’re not happy, pack your things and leave. No one’s stopping you.”
