Aurora wanted to say something else, but when she noticed the bloodshot veins in his eyes, she fell silent.
She could still see the exhaustion in him when he spoke.

She had only been gone for a day or two–how did he end up sick already?

At first, she had felt a bit out of ceing back to this house.
