Aurora had no choice but to fall silent, keeping a faint smile on her face. “Alright then, both of you are certainly straightforward men.“The main reason we’re here today is to see if we can secure an additional five percent in profit. That’s the lowest Walton Corporation can offer.”
David and Peter exchanged a look.
So that was Walton Corporation’s real intention.
At this point, with the Vanguard Group project in y, their products were in demand everywhere.
Sales were the least of their concerns.
What mattered was who would ultimately secure the deal.
And right now, Walton Corporation stood a strong chance.
If they did get it, the profit margin could be negotiated.
However, drinking was a whole other matter.
“Miss Walton, matters of business are best discussed after a few rounds,” David said, his tone cryptic and slightly displeased.
Peter chimed in, “Exactly. We’re just getting started–let’s keep drinking. Only when everyone’s fully loosened up can we really talk frankly.”
Aurora’s eyes dimmed slightly, the smile on her lips fading a little.
She recalled someone once warning her–those two were infamous for their lechery.
But there was nothing she could do.
These twopanies were industry leaders in Ravenshore.
And Walton Corporation still relied on their supplies.
“Alright, since both of you are in such high spirits, it wouldn’t be right for me to dampen the mood.”
With that, Aurora tilted her head back and finished a ss in one go.
After drinking, she even turned the cup over and gave it a shake to show it was empty.
Seeing this, Peter and David both smiled wider, clearly pleased.
“Good, Miss Walton is refreshingly easy–going.”

The other man chimed in, “Exactly, no need to go through all this trouble.”
With the two of them echoing each other, Aurora finally saw things clearly.
This was nothing but a trap dressed up as a business dinner.
It had been almost ten minutes, and Hank still hadn’t returned.
This was clearly a set–up.
Aurora’s gaze turned cold as she began thinking of a way to get out of this.
Just then, with a loud bang, the private room door was forcefully pushed open from the outside.
Through her half–lidded, slightly tipsy gaze, Aurora looked up and saw a man with a tall,manding presence.
His features were so striking they bordered on otherworldly, and he radiated an intimidating aura, as though a deity had descended upon the room.
“Lucas?”
She murmured in disbelief. What was he doing here?
Lucas gave the room a calm, sweeping nce and instantly grasped what was going on.
He let out a softugh, like melting snow in early winter. “What a lively gathering. Why don’t I join the two of you for a drink?”
There was a distinct edge in his tone, one that carried a clear warning.
He sat down beside Aurora without waiting for an invitation, casually draping his arm over the back of her chair, his posture unmistakably protective.
David and Peter exchanged nces, their expressions turning sour as fear crept onto their faces.
Their legs even felt a little weak.
“O–of course not. We were just discussing business.”
Why was this devil Lucas Carter here?
And what was his rtionship with Aurora?

In an instant, David and Peter were so terrified they looked as if they were about to drop to their knees before Aurora.

No one would believe it even if they said it out loud.
The two men rushed to apologize to Lucas, bowing and nodding repeatedly, their arrogance from earlierpletely gone.
