Chapter 38

Inside the restaurant, Aurora and Lucas‘ dinner remained undisturbed by themotion outside.

“What are your thoughts on Vanguard Group’s hot spring resort project?” Lucas asked casually, elegantly slicing his steak.

Aurora set down her fork, her expression turning serious.

“Vanguard Group ns to develop a high–end hot spring

sort thatbines wellness, leisure, and entertainment.

“I’ve drafted an initial concept that integrates modern ectural design with naturalndscapes to create a space that’s both contemporary and Zen–inspired.”

Lucas raised an intrigued eyebrow. “Oh? Let’s hear it.”

Aurora retrieved her tablet from her bag, pulled up her design proposal, and handed it to him while exining her vision in detail.

Lucas skimmed through the concept as he listened to her analysis his gaze filled with admiration.

He had to admit that Aurora’s design philosophy was unique, and more importantly, it held strongmercial potential.

“Your concept is creative and has great market appeal,” he remarked, returning the tablet.

“However, I suggest refining some details. For example, the hot spring areas could have more diverse themes, incorporating interactive experiences to make them more engaging.

“The spa section could partner with internationally renowned brands to enhance its prestige.

“The dining options should include signature dishes that highlight local vors.

“As for the amodations, adding smart technology features could significantly improve guest experience.”

Aurora listened intently, nodding as she absorbed his suggestions

She absentmindedly traced the edge of her tablet,

    entarily lost in thought.

“You…” She looked up at him, her clear eyes filled with curiosity. “Why are you suddenly giving me advice?”

Her gaze held a flicker of doubt. “And… how do

    so much about Vanguard’s project?”

Lucas swirled his wine ss slowly, his long fingers effortlessly elegant.

The soft glow of the restaurant lights reflected in his deep, enigmatic eyes, making them look even more unfathomable.

“Just giving you a few pointers,” he said nonchntly.

He took a slow sip of wine before adding, “Vanguard’s project won’t be easy to secure. If you’re nning to use it as your way back into Walton Corporation…”

He paused, his intense gaze locking onto hers.

“You’re going to have to work a little harder.”

Aurora remained silent for a moment, absorbing Lucas‘ words.

He was right–securing the Vanguard Group project would be a formidable challenge.

Manypanies were eyeing it hungrily, and if she wanted to im it, the road ahead wouldn’t be easy.

Taking a deep breath, she slipped her tablet back into her bag, her tone firm with resolve.

    “I’ll do my best.”

Lucas watched her, amusement flickering in his gaze as he caught he stubborn determination on her face.

The corner of his lips curved subtly.

Setting down his wine ss, his voice dropped to a low, maicmbre. “You know, you look really good when you’re serious about work.”

Aurora’s cheeks flushed slightly. She instinctively turned her headway, avoiding his eyes.

Lucas chuckled softly and stood up, his tall traine looming over her exuding an invisible sense of dominance.

“I’m just being honest,” he murmured, leaning down ever so slightly, his warm breath brushing against her ear.

“But if you ever need help… just ask me.”

Aurora’s heart skipped a beat, her pulse quickening.

A sudden wave of heat rushed to her ears, making them burn.

Instinctively, she took a step back, putting some distance between them.

    “I–I got it.”

Lucas smirked at her flustered reaction, the amusement in his eyes deepening.

Reaching out, he ruffled her hair lightly.

“Alright, I’ll stop teasing. Eat up.‘

The golden afternoon sunlight filtered through the floor–to–ceiling windows, casting dappled shadows across the floor.

Later that day, Lucas‘ sleek ck Maybach pulled up in front of Walton Corporation’s headquarters, the car’s air conditioning doing little to counter the lingering summer heat outside.

He turned off the engine and shifted slightly, his gaze resting on Aurora. His voice was calm, gentle.

    “We’re here.”
