“Cecilia, Wes is back already. Guess whose side he’ll take this time?”

Cecilia said nothing. Judging by the time, Wesley should have arrivedst night.

Since he hadn’te here, it was clear he had taken Larissa’s side.

That was the source of Larissa’s confidence now.

Larissa didn’t care whether Cecilia spoke or not. She said slowly, “By the way, the Carlton Group issued a statement this morning.”

Cecilia was mentally prepared; she figured it was to draw a clear line.

“As for Wes,” Larissa deliberately slowed her tone, enunciating each word. “he issued a statement, giving the Holiday Series perfume my name.”

Cecilia jerked her head up, her eyes full of disbelief.

    “What… did you say?”

The words were squeezed out from her parched throat.

    Hoarse and unpleasant.

Larissa brushed the stray hair from her cheek behind her car, taking a graceful step

She savored Cecilia’s pain, feeling especially delighted

Atst, she had won this time.

“I said, the Holiday Series perfume is mine now.”

“Cecilia, this belonged to my sister. You have no right to it.”

    Cecilia was trembling all over.

She dug her nails into her palm, her lips drained of color.

The first thing Wesley did upon returning was to put Larissa’s name on the perfume brand she had worked so hard tounch.

    How could he dare?

    What right did he have?

    “Cecilia,” Larissa called her name.

    Full of malice.

“She is my sister. I have every right to her things. As for you, no matter how close you were to her, in the end, you still get nothing.”

“I told you, you don’t deserve to call her your sister!” Cecilia growled, like a trapped beast with nowhere to go.

Larissa felt satisfied, finally venting all the resentment that had weighed her down.

“Cecilia, if you can persuade Luciano to drop the charges against Dad, I might consider letting you go.”

Dillon was still in custody. Luciano was adamant it was kidnapping; unless the charges were dropped, Dillon was sure to go to prison.

Cecilia sneered, “Larissa, aren’t you so capable? Go beg your dear Wes to get him out.”

    Larissa’s good mood vanished instantly.

She red at Cecilia, her eyes filled with a mix of coldness and hatred.

“Cecilia, you’ll go to prison too.”

    She turned and left.

Cecilia staggered back to her seat, her expression as nk as a puppet’s.

After an unknown amount of time, a suddenmotion sounded in her ears. “She’s bleeding.”

“Get her to the hospital, quick!”

When Cecilia woke up again, she was in the hospital.

She stared nkly at the ceiling, her face pale and cold, her eyes utterly devoid of life.

Luciano saw she was awake and spoke with some reluctance.

    “You’re pregnant.”

Cecilia’s empty, confused eyes flickered, and her hand fell to her lower abdomen.

    A child?

She was going to have a child?

“The doctor said you’ve been through a shock and need bed rest,” Luciano instructed. “I’ve already arranged for your bail. You can focus on recovering.”

    “Luciano.”

    Cecilia’s voice was very soft.

“Can you ask the doctor for me, if I don’t want this child, can I have the surgery right away? Or will medication be enough?”

Luciano was stunned for a long moment before he realized Cecilia meant she didn’t want the child.

He knew the reason, and so he knew how much pain Cecilia was in

    now.

“The doctor said it’s not easy for you to get pregnant. If you give up this child, it may be very hard for you to conceive again in the future.”

Losing the child would be very damaging to her health.

Tears fell from Cecilia’s eyes the moment she blinked.

    She bit her lip hard.

Of course she knew how difficult it was for her to have this child.

But she no longer wanted to give birth to Wesley’s child.

Wesley had given the Holiday Series perfume to Larissa.

She thought, if Prisci knew about this, how heartbroken she would be.

    It was her own failure.

She couldn’t protect what belonged to Prisci,

“Not many people know I’m pregnant yet. Let’s take care of it now, while we still can.”

That way, Wesley wouldn’t know, and he wouldn’t go back on his word about Noah’s illness.

She had made up her mind.

    Luciano went to ask.

    He came back quickly.

The doctor did not rmend terminating the pregnancy, as it would be too harmful to her body. But if the patient insisted, the doctor would arrange the surgery.

Cecilia closed her eyes. “Go ahead and arrange it. The sooner, the

    better.

Cecilia didn’t sleep at all that night.

Her hand remained pressed against her lower abdomen, not moving an inch.

Early in the morning, the nurse came to draw her blood for tests. If there were no problems, the surgery would be arranged immediately.
