Chapter31
She didn’t care.
After all, the familial affection that belonged to Prisci had long gone
away.
She watched coldly for a while, then, gritted her teeth against the sharp pain in her ankle and walked toward the elevator doors.
She would not be attending this press conference.
They could do whatever they wanted.
The elevator doors opened, and Raelynn approached.
A mocking smile slowly curled at the corner of Prisci’s lips. She turned and her gaze became icy as she swept over everyone in the conference room.
Finally, she said to Raelynn, “I’ve changed my mind. I won’t be attending the press conference,”
Raelynn was dumbfounded.
Prisci had already left.
Raelynn took a deep breath and asked what had happened.
udeined indignantly: “I just asked her to admit at the press conference that she deliberately fabricated facts to frame Larissa, and she got angry.”
Raelynn looked at ude as if he were an idiot. Where did this foole ?

She couldn’t help but say, “Mrs. Carlton already agreed to make a statement at the press conference, announcing that she and your family are loving and united. That way, Mr. Carlton taking Ms. Wilburn out could be exined as family helping each other.”
“Besides, this is the venue for the press conference. Do you think she’de here for no reason?”
ude was instantly speechless. Had Prisci already agreed?
If that was the case, why hadn’t she said so earlier?
She must be trying to get attention–she’s always been calcting.
Tania was also utterly shocked: “This child, if everything was already settled. why didn’t she say so sooner?”
Raelynn had no time to listen to their bickering. She walked out while calling Wesley, but Wesley was in an online meeting and didn’t
answer.
In the conference room, Larissa was crying bitterly and med ude: “ud, what exactly did you say to Prisci? She clearly agreed to attend the press conference, so why did she change her mind?”
ude felt a wave of bitterness, followed by even greater anger. “Do you believe everything she says?”
“But…”
“She just wants to see us beg her.” ude clenched his fists tightly and his chest heaved with rage. “If she were so kind, she would have told me just now.”
She always felt the Wilburn family owed her, and whenever she got the chance, she couldn’t wait to show off her sense of presence.

After going downstairs, Prisci immediately took a cab to the hospital.
Her ankle hurt so much that she nearly fainted.
After examined at the hospital, the doctor ordered her to be hospitalized for treatment.
During this time, her phone kept ringing–calls from Wesley, ude, Tania…
She didn’t answer a single one.
In the end, she simply put her phone on silent.
An hourter, Wesley appeared in the hospital room with his dark face. “Why did you leave?”
Prisci met his gaze calmly.
“My ankle hurts.”
That was the truth.
But–Wesley clearly didn’t believe her. “Wasn’t it because you changed your mind about attending the press conference?”
He knew about her injury–it wasn’t serious enough to require hospitalization.
Prisci let out a bitterugh. Once wasn’t enough–he had to doubt her a second time.
Her suppressed emotions erupted.
She said coldly, “Why should I have to clean up the mess you and

Larissa made?”
Clearly, she was the biggest victim in all of this.
“Prisci, even a tantrum has its limits.” Wesley’s tone was exceptionally cold.
After finishing his meeting, he had rushed to the press conference, only to find out that Prisci hade and gone.
Before the press conference even started, the Carlton Group had already released news that Prisci would attend. But she didn’t show up, and if the conference went ahead, it would possibly have the opposite effect.
As a result, the press conference had to be canceled.
This was a unfavorable for the Carlton Group.
Wesley said coolly again, “There has never been anything improper between Larissa and me. It’s not as sordid as you think.”
Prisci listened quietly, with her fingers slowly clenching on her knees.
“Oh? Then why do you care so much about the rumors? Just keep being so above reproach.”
Wesley’s thin lips pressed together–he was truly angry now.
She had agreed to attend the press conference, but backed out at the critical moment.
She was deliberately toying with him.
The atmosphere in the hospital room grew oppressive.

Wesley leaned down, with his cool breath andhis eyes frosted over. “Prisci, must you be like this?”
Prisci elenched her fingers. “I’ve said it before: if you want to protect and care for her, then let’s get a divorce.”
Once divorced, even if he took care of Larissa in bed, she wouldn’t say another word.
