someone?”

Anneliese unlocked her phone and handed it over. Nishay opened the contacts. The first was Jonathan, saved as ‘Hubby.’
Her gaze lingered on the name, her expression darkening.
Nishay’s fingers shook as she tried to block Jonathan, her intention clear.

“What things?” Nishay pressed, thinking Anneliese was lying.
Anneliese sighed. “This apartment belongs to Jonathan. Since we broke up, we have to move out. Also, both Maisie and the nurse work for him.”
Nishay’s eyes hardened. “Are you mocking me? Living in his house, using his staff, but refusing to be with him?”
Her sudden sternness left Anneliese struggling to keep herposure. “Grandma, that’s not what I meant.”
“Then, block him. We’re moving out now! Take me back to the hospital.”
Anneliese realized she shouldn’t have mentioned the apartment. “Grandma, it’s New Year’s-”
“Fine. If you won’t move, I’ll go myself!”
Nishay pulled off the nket and tried to climb down, fragile as she was.
Anneliese caught her just in time, feeling helpless.
Under Nishay’s gaze, Anneliese blocked Jonathan’s contacts. Only then did Grandma eat a little and agree to rest and return to the hospital in the morning.
Anneliese left the room, exhausted.
Jessica walked with her to the master bedroom. “Are you really breaking up with Mr. Fullbuster?”
Anneliese copsed on the bed, not wanting to move.
Seeing her like this, Jessica sighed. “Don’t be too pessimistic. Your grandmother isn’t unreasonable. Give her time–she’lle around.”
She gently patted Anneliese’s shoulder.
Anneliese opened her eyes. “But what if she never does?”
Her grandmother had always been stubborn. After losing Anneliese’s foster parents, she’d never let go― how could she suddenly change now?
Jessica’s brow furrowed, then she rested her hand on her stomach, eyes lighting up.
“Then, hurry and give Mr. Fullbuster a baby! Once there’s a baby, your grandmother won’t be able to break you up.” She grinned. “Or just tell her you’re already pregnant…”
Anneliese rubbed her face. “Don’t push it. What if she can’t handle the shock?”
