Chapter 200 The Perfect Divorce Gift
Chapter 200 The Perfect Divorce Gift
He closed his eyes for a moment to calm himself down. Then, he walked away with long strides.
Melody swayed on her feet, and Lenora was so angry that she burst into tears.
Coral hid behind Melody, too scared to say anything.
But Melody still hadn’t forgotten about her. She suddenly spun around and grabbed Coral.
“You little tramp, tell me the truth. Are you sure the baby in your belly belongs to Zacharias?”
Coral nodded in panic. “Mrs. Shaw, of course the baby is Zacharias. Anneliese and her friend are both horrible. They’re just trying to turn us against each other. How could you let them fool you?”
Even with Coral’s repeated assurances, Melody still didn’t fully believe her.
She decided she’d ask the doctor right away about that amniotic paternity test.
In the car, Jessica was still ranting about Melody.
“She’s unbelievable! Calling you a cast–off? Who even uses words like that – her head must be full of rocks.
“And her loser son? He’s nothingpared to Mr. Fullbuster. She acts like everyone wants him or something.
“Annie, did you see how Zacharias lost his mind when Mr. Fullbuster sent you flowers? If you ask me, you should just get together with Mr. Fullbuster and drive the whole family crazy!”
Anneliese sat in the passenger seat, cradling the bouquet, while Jessica raged on.
Anneliese turned to squint at her.
“Don’t tell me you and Jonathan nned this together.”
The timing was too strange.
Last night, Jessica suggested she get together with Jonathan, and then Jonathan actually brought up marriage himself.
Now Jessica was pushing the same thing all over again.
“nned what? What are you talking about?” Jessica looked honestly confused.
Anneliese shook her head. “Forget it.”
She looked down at the flowers, only to find a little surprise hidden inside.
She picked out two tiny, crystal carvings from between the petals.
One was a pear made from clear quartz.
The other was a peach carved from rose quartz.
They were both made from the purest crystal, each just about the size of her palm, gleaming and wless.
They were plump and absolutely adorable.
“Wow, those are so cute! What a perfect divorce gift. A genius move, Mr. Fullbuster!”
Jessica caught sight of the little crystal fruits and gave a hearty chuckle.
She thought Jonathan was a master of mind games.
Those crystal ornaments weren’t cheap, and Anneliese would have to keep them out on disy.
Every time she saw them, she’d be reminded that they were Jonathan’s divorce gift, and that he’d always be there for her through thick and thin.
That would definitely keep Anne and Zacharias from ever getting close again.
Those crystal fruits definitely took more than a couple of days to carve. He must have nned this ages ago.
He really is a master of mind games … what a sneaky guy, but in a good way.
“Yup, I have to admit, he’s quite thoughtful.”
Anneliese smiled, took out her phone, put the crystal peach and pear back in the bouquet, and snapped a photo.
She used the picture for a Facebook post, the caption reading, “From now on, your life will be nothing but freedom and sunshine.”
Just as she was about to close Facebook, she got a notification – someone liked her post.
Her heart skipped a beat. She looked closely and saw it was from Jonathan.

10 Free Coins

Zion said he had a big meeting today, so how did he manage to like her post right away?
“Annie, something’s off!”
Jessica’s surprised voice suddenly rang out from the driver’s seat.
She had just stopped at the intersection and was now staring hard at Anneliese.
“What’s off?”
“I just told you to go after Mr. Fullbuster, and then you asked if I nned everything with him. That doesn’t make sense! Unless … Mr. Fullbuster already made a move on you!
“Come on, spill! And what did Zion mean about you turning him down? What exactly did you turn down?”
Jessica bombarded her with questions, and Anneliese’s eyes darted away in guilt.
Jonathan’s words fromst night echoed in her mind once again.
“Did you enjoy making Ms. White cry tonight? If you marry me, I can help you make her cry every day. Sound good?”
“Let’s get married on paper for two years. You help me get my shares, and we pretend to be the perfect couple in front of my family. That way, they’ll stop bothering me about getting married. I’ll be the best partner I can, and after two years, if you want to leave, you’re free to go.”
Jonathan’s eyes had been so alluring when he said those words.
He was dangerously persuasive.
Luckily, Jessica had brought it up to her first, so Anneliese had already thought it through and decided against it.
Otherwise, she might have said yes in a moment of weakness.
“No… nothing like that.”
Facing Jessica’s intense questioning, Anneliese avoided her eyes and denied it.
If Jessica found out that Jonathan had proposed, she’d get even more excited.
