Zacharias stepped out of Coral’s hospital room and spoke to Jackie with a cold, sharp tone.
Inside, Coral’s muffled sobs trembled through the door, apanied by Lenora Shen’s calm, soothing words.
Jackie’s face tightened with concern. Coral had just clung to Zacharias so desperately that she fainted, and he would not allow this child to be born.
Half a month ago, Jackie had identally walked into Zacharias‘ office and found Coral sitting in hisp, arms wrapped tightly around his neck, kissing him fiercely.
The memory lingered ufortably, a reminder of how unpredictable life could be.
He dared not speak. “Yes, Mr. Shaw. I will have a bodyguard watch over her as you have ordered.”
Zacharias loosened his tie. Coral’s cries had softened, yet that only made them sound more painful, more heart–wrenching.
Irritation surged through him, but beneath it was a subtle, inescapable tug of emotion.
This was his first child, yet the child could only be Anneliese’s.
He had grown up with her and knew the consequences of siring a baby with another woman. If he had a child with anyone else, Anneliese would never forgive him.
He stepped away from the room and nced at his watch.
“It’s time for the auction. Where’s the invitation?”
Jackie hurriedly pulled the charity auction invitation from his briefcase and handed it over.

“The pink diamond on Mrs. Shaw’s wedding ring is the first item. You can change and head over now, Mr. Shaw.”
Sunrise Residence was still under repair, so Zacharias had been staying in the hotel’s presidential suite.
The auction was conveniently along the way.
The event was at the Liscarton Hotel.
The car stopped outside the hotel. Jonathan got out, walking confidently around the vehicle to open the door for Anneliese.
She lowered her head to adjust her shawl and looked up to find his hand already extended.
She did not hesitate. Her hand rested naturally in his palm.
He closed his fingers around hers.
Anneliese, as uderias Tech’s PR director, was used to social handshakes and formal dances, yet Jonathan’s touch made her pulse quicken, a subtle, unfamiliar flutter.
Once she stepped down and found her bnce, he released her hand.
He lifted his arm slightly, silently inviting her to loop hers through his.
Her gaze drifted ahead, catching two figures in the lobby.
“What is it?” Jonathan asked.
She shook her head slightly, but her eyes lingered.
The lobby glittered with gold ents and a bustling crowd. Jonathan saw nothing out of ce.
For a brief moment, she thought she had seen Zacharias walking in with a woman,
arm in arm.

Chapter 119 Cruel Zacharias
That made no sense.
Melody was still in police custody, and Coral was in the hospital.
Zacharias was meticulous with time; he would not be casually walking here with a woman, not when it would risk everyone seeing through his facade of loving husband.
She had imagined it.
“Nothing,” she said, smiling faintly as she linked her arm through Jonathan’s.
Jonathan, aware of the tight schedule, guided her through a private entrance into the auction.
Inside, the room was divided into several sections.
A staff member had prepared a reserved area for the rich heirs, with two elegant Eastern style armchairs separated by a small table holding tea, delicate pastries, and a fruit tter.
Jonathan guided Anneliese to the seats.
The staff member leaned forward and whispered something to him.
“I’ll be away for a moment,” Jonathan said softly.
Anneliese nodded without hesitation.
He poured a cup of tea and ced it carefully in front of her before turning to leave with the staff member.
Steam curled from the cup.
Just as Anneliese reached to pick it up, her phone vibrated.
It was a message from Selina.
‘Guess where we are?‘ She also sent a photo.

The photo showed Selina in a red velvet gown, arm linked with a man in a ck suit.
His face was hidden, but the watch on his wrist immediately caught Anneliese’s attention. It was Zacharias‘.
The gift she had given him for uderias Tech’s IPO.
Her brow furrowed as she zoomed in on the image.
It was not concern that made her focus. The background looked unmistakably like the hotel lobby.
A careful nce confirmed it. She had not imagined it earlier.
Zacharias was here.
He was with Selina.
