    <i>I </i><i>crave </i><i>his </i><i>touch</i><i>, </i><i>but </i><i>he’s </i><i>so </i><i>d</i>*mn <i>annoying</i><i>–</i><i>won’t </i><i>let </i><i>me </i><i>near </i>him<i>, </i><i>and </i><i>now </i><i>he’s </i><i>trying </i><i>to </i>wrap <i>me </i><i>up </i><i>again</i>. <i>Is </i><i>he </i><i>trying </i><i>to </i><i>suffocate </i><i>me</i>? <i>I </i><i>don’t </i><i>want </i><i>it</i>.

She finally broke free from his hold. Without giving him a chance to react, she yanked off his suit jacket and flung it aside. Her waist twisted, one long leg swinging over in a swift move.

The jacket hit the floor, and her bare little foot nudged it farther away in disdain before she straddled him.

One hand slipped beneath his shirt, gliding upward along the firm muscle lines. The other traced over his neck, fingertips skimming and teasing until they paused at the tiny brown mole resting on his Adam’s apple.

“I want you…” Her rosy cheeks lifted as she looked up. Heat shimmered in her eyes, and her breath, warm and sweet, slipped past her parted lips against his skin.

Anneliese whispered and leaned down. Her soft, fragrant body pressed against his chest as she captured that tiny mark with her lips.

It felt like she had taken a hard candy into her mouth. Not sweet–yet strangely calm, soothing the ache wing through her body.

She tried to melt it with the tip of her tongue, but the candy only rolled and shifted yfully, refusing to surrender.

    He really is wicked.

She snapped, and, without a second thought, sank her teeth into it, a quick nip followed by a lingering suck.

A low sound rumbled out of him–shockingly close to a moan.

Anneliese’s eyes flew wide. Then came his voice, rough and unsteady, dropping from above like a warning growl.

    “Anneliese.”

She lifted her head in surprise. Her eyes shimmered, ssy with confusion and the hunger she couldn’t shake. The ache in her throat only grew sharper, and before she knew it, she leaned in, drawn toward his tightly pressed lips.

But just as she was about to reach him, a broad hand mped down on the back of her neck,

“Mmh.” Anneliese squirmed in protest, twisting her waist. Her off–shoulder crop top, already tugged half out of ce, barely covered her anymore.

Jonathan’s gaze darkened as pale skin spilled into view, a restless, unguarded snowfield under neon light.

Outside the window, colors bled and shimmered, painting her in a haze of decadent glow. Her seaweed–dark hair slid down in loose strands, brushing over the veins on his hand. Sparks shot from that fleeting contact, racing hot and fast through every nerve in his body.

Jonathan’s eyes grew darker, turbulent, locked on the woman in his arms. “Do you even know who I am?”

Anneliese’s vision swam, the world a blur until all she caught was a pair of narrow, smoldering

    eyes.

Her head tipped back against his grip, and she let out a sultry yet pitifulugh. “It hurts… I can’t stand it. Kiss me. Hold me. Please… I’m burning up. Help me.”

Jonathan’s dark gaze stayed locked on the flushed features in his arms, the woman lost in desire.

She looked at him with raw hunger, yet she had no idea who he was.

His hand tightened at the nape of her neck while the other mped around her slim waist. Two points of restraint–though it was hard to tell who he was trying to trap, her or himself.

Anneliese’s frustration only grew, and her eyes misted over until tears spilled in heavy drops down her cheeks. She red at him, puffed up with indignation, as if her sorrow could drown him.

“You’re so d’mn cold! A heartless b*stard, that’s what you are! You call yourself a man?” sheshed out, her fists pounding against his chest, tugging at his shirt in a burst of helpless anger.

The buttons popped loose, scattering across the seat. The gash on her palm split open again, tiny beads of blood seeping out against his skin.

Jonathan let out a sigh that hovered somewhere between resignation and defeat. He eased his grip, releasing her wrists atst.

After leaning back, his hands clenched tightly at his sides. He allowed her to climb onto him, and her lips pressed against his with frantic insistence. He neither kissed her back nor pushed

    her away.

Her mouth moved with urgency, but shecked the skill in her desperate attempts to pry his lips apart. Her body writhed awkwardly against hisp, seeking relief she couldn’t find.

The air grew hot, breaths tangling in the narrow space.

Streetlights outside flickered through the car window, washing over the curve of her trembling back, then over the sharp lines of his face. His expression remained guarded, rigid, as if untouched by the storm raging against him.

Only the fists buried into the leather seat betrayed him–knuckles white, muscles strained near breaking–proof that he wasn’t as untouched as he seemed.

    At Age Airport.

“What did you just say? Anne didn’te with you?” Zacharias and Selina had no trouble meeting up with the Whites, yet Anneliese was nowhere in sight.

His expression hardened, and his hand clenched into a fist. A wave of unease surged through him, sharp and disorienting, leaving his chest tight with panic he couldn’t quite exin.

“You know how Anne is. She just can’t stand being around Selina. But think about it–back then, the mix–up wasn’t Selina’s fault. She was just a baby andpletely innocent.”
