Aiden lowered his head when he heard that and the current sight of him hurt Lc so much. She
couldn’t believe this was the man she had been waiting for all this time, her mate, her soulmate.
someone that she was supposed to spend the rest of her life with.
“The battle has been so intense. You will not be able to understand it since you were not there. Aiden’s
jaw hardened when he told Lc what he had to endure during the war. “I was lonely and you were not
there.”
“So, the first thing that crossed your mind was to find another woman to f u c k?!” Lc raised her voice,
she was so hurt by hisme excuses. He essentially told her that he got that woman pregnant just
because he couldn’t stand being alone and keep his member inside his pants.
“Lc!” Aiden raised his voice too, but he didn’t have any valid point to retort her statement. “You don’t
understand how I feell You were not the one who fought those lycans! You don’t know how it feels to be
a step closer to your own death!”
A tear escaped Lc’s eyes when she heard that. He didn’t even apologize for what he had done. He
was trying to justify his actions and wanted Lc to see it from his point of view, so she could
understand him.
But, what about her?!
“I have been waiting for you, trying to learn how to be a perfect luna for you when you return. I wanted
to make you proud of me.” Lc wiped her tears from her checks roughly. “I was lonely too. I wanted
you by my side. Every day and night. I prayed for your safe return, so we can be together again. Not
even once did it cross my mind I can find another man to fill the emptiness of your absence”
Aiden gritted his teeth. The sight of Lc right now as she cried bitterly filled him with so much pain.
The mate bond-still worked between them. He could feel the pain that Lc had to bear, he could feel it
in his blood; how he had hurt his other half so much. Her voice trembled with every syble, because
she was having a hard time holding back her emotions.
“It’s different, Lc.” Aiden shook his head. “You don’t understand. Our situations are different.”
Still. He still didn’t apologize to her.
Lc gritted her teeth, as she stared at Aiden in disbelief. “You didn’t even apologize for what you have
done, Aiden, and here I am, thinking, at the very least, you feel a little bit sorry for me.”
Aiden looked surprised, he didn’t think about that. He was so busy defending himself and feeling high-
strung, since he knew he was in the wrong and it was his basic instinct to make Lc understand him
instead.
“Lc, I he stuttered slightly. “I am sorry.”
The word founded so cheap to Lc when he finally said that. “You don’t feel sorry, Aiden, you don’t
regret it. Your words sound empty.”
Lc, Aiden took a step closer and grabbed her hands tightly. “Lc, we can find a way out of this.. we
can still be together.”
Lc narrowed her eyes. She had this gut feeling that told her, she wouldn’t like whatever came from
Auden’s mouth right now.

“What do
you
mean?”
Aiden had thisplicated look on his face when he spoke again. “We can still be together…” he only
repeated what he said and that was enough for Lc.
She swatted his hands away and red at him. “If you think I will go down that path, you can’t be any
more wrong.” she said sternly through her gritted teeth.
And before Aiden could say something else, Lc turned around and ran away from him. She held back
from crying out loud, as the loud music could be heard in the distance, where people still celebrated the
return of the warriors from the battlefield.
But right now, Lc was grieving the death of the bond she shared with her mate.
She wanted to reject Aiden, but her heart couldn’t take the rejection just yet. She had never been in so
much pain like right now.
And for the rest of the week, Lc stayed inside her bedroom, she barely came out and every time
Aident came to see her, she would always have her door locked.
It was only Luna Jasmine, Alpha James and a few of her closer friends, who knew about what
happened, while the rest of the people wondered about the woman, who always clung to Aiden.
“Lc, don’t be sad anymore…” Aria spoke to her softly. She was Lc’s close friend, they had known
each other since they were little and were still in the orphanage. “Let’s go out, you will feel better if you
participate in the festivities.” Aria nudged her b*dy, trying to act cheerful, even though she felt so bad
for Lc.
How could one’s mate do something so horr e n d o u s like what Aiden did to her?
“I don’t want to feel better, Aria. I want to disappear.” Tears escaped her beautiful eyes again, her long
hair was disheveled, as she stopped taking care of herself for days now. She looked like she was
mourning Aiden, even though the man safely returned to their pack.
“Don’t be like that, Lc. Let’s go out to walk for a bit, this evening there will be a party to wee the
people from the lycan pack.”
Yes. The lycan pack would be here for at least a week, as their leader would sign a peace treaty with
the other five alphas.
The five alphas hade yesterday and now they only needed to wait for the Lycan Alpha and his
people
toe.
Right at that time, Luna Jasmine knocked on the door and Aria opened it.
“Lc. I want to show you the dress that you will wear for the party tonight. I think you will feel better if
