    Mr. Lynn made a snap decision, ordering Hudson before things could spiral further.

    She’d backed the Lynn family into a corner. The smartest option now was to void the contract, let Aubrey walk away satisfied, and preserve what was left of their reputation.

    If Charles had taken Aubrey away earlier, or stopped her from speaking, things wouldn’t havee to this.


    The Lynn family’s punishment chamber was a cold, dark stone cell where light never reached. Stay too long, and even the toughest could go mad.


    For Charles, who had always been the family’s golden child, it was his first real brush with consequence. Until now, family rules, elders‘ warnings – they had always been just talk. Now, they were steel bars waiting to close around him.


    But he didn’t argue. He didn’t protest. He left silently.
