Enemy 358

    Chapter 358

    Could it be for her?

The real reason behind The Yuncey Family’s new productunch? Was it all meant to target her?

They had probably calcted it all in advance, anticipating that Caitlin would show up to stop the Fragrance Garmentsunch upon hearing about it. After all, ck Hawk had already removed all other obstacles and had steered Caitlin to investigate The Yuncey Family and look for clues about her mother.

When she arrived in Silverstone, ck Hawk had nned to capture her to lure Sebastian into a trap. However, they had been outsmarted.

Then, Caitlin disrupted theunch event and sessfully infiltrated The Yuncey Family. If her guess was correct, the next move would likely be for The Yuncey Family to try and emotionally manipte her, using familial ties to bind her, hoping to win her over.

If emotional appeals didn’t work, they might try forceful tactics to obtain the real *Yun’s Aromatic Codex from her.

A perfectly orchestrated n–nothing left to chance!

But Caitlin had one more question: what about Hayden? His request for cooperation, to sabotage theunch, did it have anything to do with their ns?

Before Caitlin could think further, The Yuncey Family’s first daughter–inw, Greta, spoke up, “Caitlin, if you really are Eleanor’s granddaughter, you should call me your aunt.”

“Since we’re family, you should understand what’s appropriate and what’s not. How could you embarrass Carmen like that in public? How will the outside world see The Yuncey Family now? I’m curious–did youe back to reconnect, or to stir up trouble?”

Quill added, “Caitlin, right? I’m your uncle. You’ve been saying you’re the rightful heir to The Yuncey Family, but if that’s true, you should start

thinking more about our family’s reputation in the future. We’ll let this one slide.”

Caitlin didn’t back down. “If you truly cared about The Yuncey Family’s reputation, you wouldn’t have staged a fake Fragrance Garmentsunch to begin with, only to make a mockery of yourselves!”

    “You-”

Quill was about to lose his temper when Rachel intervened, “Enough, everyone! Let’s get Caitlin settled in first,” she said, gesturing for Zahra

to take Caitlin to her room.

“Caitlin, please follow me,” Zahra said politely.

Caitlin understood that, with today’s events, she had already made enemies with The Yuncey Family’s core members. As she left, the

discussions in the main hall grew louder. The women in the family were particrly displeased, criticizing Caitlin for her appearance, calling

    her too seductive.

But the men, with the exception of Quill, seemed more intrigued. No man could ignore the allure of a young and beautiful woman, especially not Dous, who stared intently at her figure as she walked out. He didn’t snap out of it until his wife, Millie, pinched his ear.

“Why did you pinch me?” Dousined.

“Father’s about to speak,” Millie shot back with a re.

Everyone turned their attention to Timothy, who calmly spoke, “Let’s not dwell on today’s events. Let’s treat Caitlin with respect now that she’s here. The Yuncey Family’s future, depends on her. If anyone has objections, keep them to yourselves.”

    “Understood, Father!” “We understand, Grandpal”

The senior members of the family all agreed to Timothy’s directive. However, Carmen, who was still fuming, couldn’t let go of the grydde, the wouldn’t let Caitlin have the upper hand for long, and she was determined to make her pay for publicly humiliating her.

Zahra guided Caitlin through the side building of The Yuncey Family estate. Sebastian and James followed closely behind. All other assistants were stationed nearby, ready for any orders.

Zahra opened the door and smiled. “Caitlin, here’s your room. Please take a look. If you need anything, don’t hesitate to let me know.”

The room was spacious, decorated like a guest bedroom with decent conditions.

“Thank you, Zahra,” Caitlin replied, her tone polite.

On the way here, she had learned that Zahra had worked for The Yuncey Family for many years. She also knew a bit about Caitlin’s grandmother and The Yuncey Family’s history.

Zahra, with her friendly demeanor, then turned to Sebastian and James. “Gentlemen, follow me. I’ll show you to your rooms

Sebastian, not wanting to be too far from Caitlin, looked at her. Caitlin caught his gaze and said to Zahra, “Zahra, these are my personal

assistants. Could you arrange for them to stay in the room next door?”

“This might be difficult, Caitlin. The second–floor area is fordies and their families only. We have rules in The Yuncey Family, and men can’t stay here. I hope you understand.”

“Alright, I understand.” Caitlin exchanged a look with Sebastian. “You two go with Zahra.”

Though Sebastian wasn’t pleased with the arrangement, he didn’t argue. Zahra led them to another guest room where Sebastian and James

    would share a room.

“Please feel free to contact us if you need anything. I’ll leave you to it now.”

“Thank you,” James said, and once Zahra left, he plopped down on the onlyrge bed, stretching his arms behind his head. “Looks like you’re going to have to share the bed with me tonight.”

“I don’t want to sleep with you. I’m going to sleep with my sister tonight,” Sebastian replied, his mind only on being with Caitlin.

James immediately sat up in protest. “You better not go to my sister’s room and ruin her reputation!”

No one knew that Sebastian and James were actually close, but if Caitlin and her assistants shared a room, gossip would start spreading.

“Got it,” Sebastian sighed, clearly frustrated.

Caitlin unpacked a little, then contacted Hayden to update him on the situation. After reading the news reports and confirming that Caitlin had seeded in her mission, Hayden replied, “Well done.”

Hayden set his phone down, puffing on a cigar while ying chess by himself.

His assistant, Rock, approached. “The Fixer/reliable sources say Caitlin’s team caught ck Hawkst night.”

“Well, I wasn’t wrong about her. That girl’s got skill,” Hayden said with a smirk, cing a piece on the chessboard. Rock hesitated before asking, “The Fixer, do you think Caitlin will help you achieve your goals?”

“Of course,” Hayden raised an eyebrow. “The Yuncey Family is stagnating. They need someone to shake things up. Caitlin is the plea candidate to make them fall apart. Let’s watch this unfold.”

Rock, slightly nervous, added, “But what if she finds out you haven’t told her the full truth?”

Hayden’s eyes narrowed coldly. “Rock, you’ve been asking too many questions today.”

“Sorry, I spoke out of turn,” Rock quickly apologized and left the room.

Meanwhile, in the guest room at The Yuncey Family estate, Caitlin had just finished settling in. She was about to head out and explore the estate, but before she could leave, someone had alreadye to find her.
