Chapter 303
Not sure what had happened, Caitlin immediately drove over.
Arriving at the ce where Freya had been staying, Caitlin saw Sebastian waiting outside. “What happened?”
“Freya is missing!”
After hearing what happened, Caitlin said nothing and walked straight into the courtyard.
Xavi and the others were investigating the scene. He came out and said, “Mr. Vanderbilt, the surveince has been destroyed and is irreparable, so we can’t see what happened before.”
“Are there any signs of a struggle inside?” Sebastian asked.
“No, everything is intact. There’s even half–eaten food on the table.”
Caitlin and Sebastian went inside to take a look. “Do you think she might have escaped on her own?”
“That’s possible.”
“To escape from here, she must have a n.”
When Caitlin said this, her eyes inadvertently nced at the table and she noticed some deep scratch marks.
She looked at the table legs and saw signs of something being moved. Caitlin boldly spected, “Maybe she didn’t escape. She might have been kidnapped!”
“How do you know she was kidnapped?”
Sebastian turned and asked.
“Look at this. What could cause such deep scratches on the table that even the heavy table was moved? Unless she was unwillingly taken away! It’s highly likely that someone came here from the outside!”
Caitlin’s first thought was, “Could it have been Ximena who sent someone to kidnap Freya?”
After alt, Freya was in Caitlin’s hands, and that was one of the reasons Ximena couldn’t sleep at night.
“We can’t rule out that possibility.”
Sebastian immediately instructed his men to leave and ordered Xavi, “Xavi, you’re in charge of protecting the scene, collecting fingerprints and footprints in this room. See if anyone else has been here besides us.”
“Understood, Mr. Vanderbilt!”
Xavi and his team immediately began preparations for evidence collection.
Sebastian, along with Caitlin, left the scene. He also assigned people to investigate XEG in secret, to see if Freya had been taken by Ximena’s people.
On the way back to the city, Caitlin received a call from PE. She nced at the caller ID and said to Sebastian, “It’s from Shengshi, probably about Yates’s signing.”

She answered the phone, “Hello?”
“Caitlin, did you see the news just now?”
“What news? Are you talking about the auction house explosion or Yates joining PE?”
“No, neither of those. It’s about you.”
“Send it to me!”
Soon, Caitlin received a news link on her phone. She opened it to find that it was an exposé about her background.
The news imed that Caitlin was not Jonathan’s biological daughter but the product of her mother Kelly’s affair, using her of taking over LIG in an illegitimate manner.
Who would have thought that Caitlin, not even a celebrity, would suddenlynd on the trending list, side by side with Yates?
The inte was buzzing with discussions about Caitlin’s background, whether she was really The Lewis Family’s daughter, and various spections about her mother.
[Turns out she was the result of her mom’s affair, not even blood rted to The Lewis Family!]
[She’s a total fake rich girl!]
[Kelly had an affair, and Jonathan must have been terribly cuckolded/Both of them, one cheating and the other marrying a mistress, aren’t good people.]
[Like mother, like daughter. Kelly was once called a vixen, and now her daughter’s no better!]
Seeing this news and the onlinements, Caitlin felt a surge of anger.
She could tolerate people questioning her, but she couldn’t stand others ndering her mother!
“What’s wrong, Caitlin? What’s the news?”
Sebastian nced over, noticing her change in expression, and immediately pulled over to the side of the road.
“You should look for yourself.”
Caitlin handed him her phone. After reading, Sebastian’s face darkened.
“These people have too much time on their hands!”
He handed the phone back to Caitlin and reassured her, “Don’t worry, I’ll take care of it.”
Sebastian made a call, ordering for all the negative news about Caitlin online to be removed, and for the trending topic to be taken down.
He also instructed, “Find out who leaked this and shut down those media outlets!”
Once the situation was handled, Sebastian held Caitlin’s hand. “It’s all taken care of now. It’s nothing to worry about.
“Thank you.”

Chapter 303
Caitlin thanked him, but she was still feeling down. Sebastian asked, “Is this exposé true? Your biological father
“Yes, he’s definitely not Jonathan. As for who my biological father is, I don’t know. I only know my mother referred to him
“Could ‘L‘ stand for Lewis?”
“I’ve read her diary, and I don’t think so.”
“Could it be James Lambert’s Lambert?”
Caitlin Shook her head. She couldn’t be sure, but no matter what, her biological father hadn’t tried to find her mother all these years, which suggested he was either dead or a worthless man.
In the city, in a rented room.
Jasmine and Megan sat together, watching the situation unfold online.
They both saw the exposé about Caitlin’s background shooting up to the top of the trending list and smirked, happy to see Caitlin getting ndered.
But why did it suddenly disappear half an hourter?
“Mom, where did it go? Even the original link to the news is gone!”
Jasmine clicked on the saved link, but it wouldn’t open.
Megan mmed the table in anger, “That bitch must have used some method to delete all the news.”
If it was indeed Caitlin’s doing, it meant she had already seen the news and took action to have it erased.
Considering Caitlin’s vengeful nature, Jasmine was a bit worried. “Mom, do you think she might trace this back to us?”
“How could she? The news was sent anonymously through a courier to a small media outlet. Even if she investigates, she’ll only find the small media outlet, not us.”
Jasmine, realizing the situation, became anxious. “Mom, what should we do now? She’s taken over LIG and is now so powerful. How can we take our revenge?”
Meganforted her, “Revenge is best served after ten years. Once your face and body arepletely fixed, you’ll appear with a brand new face. We can change our identities and start fresh in another industry!”
“Alright!” Jasmine said, filled with hope for the future.
After Sebastian took care of Caitlin’s scandal, he received a call from Felix. “Hello? Felix?”
“Mr. Vanderbilt, you need toe here quickly. We’ve found a homicide. The victim is possibly Freya.”
“What?”
Sebastian ended the call and immediately ryed the news to Caitlin, who was shocked to hear it.
Freya had been murdered?
