Chapter 94
Lydia
My phone beeped for the fifth time. I opened the message, and the man who was speaking in front of me paused.
It was a message from my mom. My finger danced on my screen as I typed back to her. It was a reminder about the meeting with
the doctor.
Mnie was in the hospital, and if everything goes as nned, then the transnt will be in two days. This was thest meeting I’d be having before I went back to the hospital.
“I’ll be done in thirty minutes. So in the next two hours, I should be in the hospital” I sent the message and returned my attention to the man in front of me.
After the meeting was concluded, I walked to my office, and Mia was already there sorting out some papers.
“Mr. Redmond just rmended apany, and I think you should take a look at it,” Mia said, handing over an iPad.
Thad met with Mr. Redmond, tried to change his mind regarding sharing the contract with anotherpany, but he had vehemently refused, iming that he had the policy and terms of the agreement that must beplied with. I was faced with losing the contract or epting the terms.
Of course, I epted, with his influence, any deal with him was sure to open the door for more deals.
I
I squinted my eyes when I saw thepany that he rmended. Why, Mason?
I
“What should I say? Should I ept it?” Mia asked, and I nodded.
“Of course.” I said and then picked my bag, gathering my things into it, “Clear my schedule for the next week.”
“That’s already done, but the thing is… She paused, and I lifted my head and held her gaze briefly.
“ording to the terms, you’d have to sign the contract with Mr. Woods tomorrow. Mr. Redmond is holding a press conference.”
“Then a representative would do it,” I said.
“Hmm, about that, he specifically requested that it be the parties, representatives aren’t allowed. It will not be more than an hour. We can leave in time to make up for the next event tomorrow.”
“Another event?” I was done packing my things at this point. Mia nodded.
“The club.”
“What club?”
She reminded me of the “One Trillion Ladies Club‘ that I had joined and had to kick Victoria out.
I was still a member of the club, but Mia was the one who did most of the things she represented me, and I barely knew about what was happening in the club.
-What about the club? Why can’t you represent me as always?”
“It’s a charity event you are hosting, and thest time we gave our word that you’d be present for the next event.” She said.

I pushed my hair back, she gathered the files to one end of the table, and we walked out of the office, closing the door behind us
Why were all the events lined up at this time? The next few days would be important, and I really wish to spend them at Mnia’s
side.
“After these two events, your schedule has been cleared, so there’s no need to worry about anything,” She said.
I got to the hospitalter than nned. After the meeting with the doctor, where we Enalized everything and signed the necessary documents, I stayed with Mnie for the rest of the night.
Liam was there too, but he left with mom. They were to return the next day.
Morning came quickly.
The day was packed with activities for me so when mom came that morning, I ced a kiss on Mnie’s head and on Liam’s cheeks and rushed out with a promise to return in time.
Cameras clicked, and the hall was packed with people, mostly reporters.
I shook hands with Mr. Redmond first, a smile gracing his lips. “We smiled and looked at the audience.
Mason shook hands with Mr. Redmond next. He was wearing a grey suit. His hair wasbed nearly to the back with a few strands left falling over his forehead.
He looked handsome. I caught myself ncing at his way more than necessary. Partly because I couldn’t wipe thest meeting with us off my head.
We had met at the manor. At first, it was just a normal meeting, though I couldn’t tell what was normal about a divorced couple seated at the same ce in the middle of the night.
We found ourselves in my room, and before you know, Mason’s lips were on mine. He fucked me in every position I could imagine.
My cheeks reddened as he shook hands with me with a sly smile on his lips.
He spends more time with me than he does with his fiancée. He was head over heels for me. I knew this, but it wasn’t the part I wanted yet.
I was still thinking about what to do with the information I had on Julia and her fake pregnancy.
“You look beautiful, did you dress up for me?” He asked:
I withdrew my hand from him, but his hold was strong. He kept smiling at the camera while holding my hand,
“I see you are being delusional again, Mr. Woods.” I decided to let him hold on to me.
After the deal was signed, we were asked
few questions by the press.
I knew about the questions beforehand and had spent time rehearsing the answers to them.
“When will I be seeing you again?” Mason asked as he walked me to my car.
I stopped on my track, taking slow breaths.
I nned to stay with Mnie till she is healthy enough to leave the hospital. He doesn’t know about my twins. This is the reason
why he can’t know about me being in the hospital,
“I’ll be travelling for a business tripter tonight. So we may not see each other till I return.”
“I don’t mind flying over to another country with you.” He said.
“Well, I mind, your wedding is in two weeks and thest thing I need is anything tying me to you.”
“It won’t be a rumor.” He said. “Because you are already tied to me.” We stopped in front of my car
“I am not.” My voice was calm, “You are getting things twisted, Mason. Because we fuck a few times doesn’t mean we are something. You had fun, and I did too. No need toplicate it by getting our emotions mixed up in it.” My voice was stem
He stepped closer to me, and I instinctively stepped back.
“Are you trying to say you arepletely over me?” He took another step, and another back until we were standing so close to each other that his warm breath fell on my skin and I could hear his chest thudding beneath my hand.
I hate having him this close to me. “Would you dare say that when I have you under me screaming my name while I fuck you in that sweet, tight cunt? Would you say you don’t feel anything?” His voice was hoarse.
I stared at him hard across his face, “Yes!”
He blinked, “You have no effect on me aside from when we are in bed. Don’t delude yourself into thinking you can build the feeling you tore down yourself.”
He looked hurt as he creased his brows together and took a step back, “You mean after all these times we’ve spent together, I’ve but won even a fraction of your heart.”
“No. Like Julia said, we are in the past.”
He clenched and unclenched his palm.
He took a step back, “I know I haven’t told you this, but I regret how things ended between us, Lydia.” He drew in a breath.
“These past few days, I’ve always had you in mind.” He shook his head and took another step back.
“No, not just days. For the past five years, I have always thought about you. Not once did you ever leave my mind.”
“And what do you want me to do about this information? Dance or jump in joy?” I challenged.
He tried to kill me. Whatever maniptive technique he is trying to pull, it won’t work.
“Wait, Lydia.“He tried to reach for my hand, but I pulled it away.
“Let me go.” I turned to look at him. My heart bled, I felt broken once more. “Lydia, listen to me, please don’t walk away from me.” shook my head.
“No.” I inhale a scent of breath. Memories of my time in prison were beginning to resurface in my mind.
“I don’t think we should be seeing each other anymore.” I dered.
“Let’s both focus on our lives.” Belope he could pull me back, I entered my car and drove of
