chapter 166

Joaquin’s shimmering eyes suddenly darkened. “We’ve already done it, so what’s the point…”

Romina quickly reached out and covered the man’s mouth, stopping him from saying more.

Footsteps sounded outside; she couldn’t tell who it was, but it wasn’t someoneing to their room.

She was certain it wasn’t Jericho returning; it was most likely a servant.

Joaquin suddenly picked her up and headed straight for the bathroom.

With a gentle kick, the door closed behind them, leaving only the two of them in the space.

Joaquin set her down on the sink, lifted her chin, and gave her a half–smiling look. “Tell me honestly, have you ever tried it with him in this room?”

Romina looked up in disbelief, her expression shocked as she stared at him.

Seeing her remain silent, the man suddenly let out a low, hoarseugh. “So, you really have…”

Romina was unwilling to recall the past. “That was so many years ago, I can’t even remember clearly anymore.”

“Is it that you can’t remember, or you just don’t want to tell me?”

His voice was thick with danger, enveloping herpletely.

Her legs dangled on either side, his waist pressed against the edge of the sink, his hands wrapped around her back to steady her.

Romina stubbornly bit her lower lip, refusing to speak.

The man’s voice grew even lower. “It’s alright, I’ll help you erase those memories bit by bit.”

Romina looked up in shock, meeting the man’s aggressive gaze.

The next second, he suddenly lowered his head and kissed her.

Romina’s hand on the sink suddenly curled slightly, unconsciously clenching into a fist.

Her heart leapt into her throat.

The man kept prying her teeth open, trying to explore deeper.

“Romina, are you in the room?”

    “Romina…”

At that moment, Lenora’s voice suddenly came from outside the door.

Romina’s heart instantly leapt into her throat.

Why did Lenora suddenly show up?

She instinctively reached out, pressing against the man’s chest, lowering her voice. “Jericho’s

    mother is outside.”

“What are you afraid of? I was just hoping they’d find out.”

The man’s voice was extremely low,ced with intense danger.

Romina swallowed nervously, but Joaquin suddenly leaned in and bit her pale neck hard, as if forcing her to make a sound.

“Mr. Bowman, don’t do this.” Romina pushed him away again. “Can you leave first?”

“With someone at the door, where am I supposed to go?”

After letting go of her, Joaquin braced his hands on either side of the sink, his elbows pressed against her thighs.

Even through the thin dress, Romina could still feel the man’s persistent, burning body heat.

    “Leave the way you came.”

Romina’s tone was anxious, her expression uneasy as she looked at him.

At least at this critical moment, she didn’t want anyone to know about her rtionship with Joaquin. She herself wasn’t afraid, but she didn’t want to drag him down.

“I only came in from the balcony because it was urgent just now…”

    “It’s even more urgent now!”

Before the man could finish his sentence, Romina interrupted him directly.

Joaquin let out a low, helplessugh, as if he had no choice with her.

“Alright, I’ll go.” Joaquin reached out and patted her head. “Don’t worry, we won’t be found out. Even if we are, it doesn’t matter.”

Joaquin’s tone was incredibly gentle, but it only made Romina’s heart sink deeper and deeper.

    “Romina, Romina…”

After the bathroom door was opened, Lenora’s voice became even louder.

Romina quickly pushed the man out onto the balcony, even pulling the floor–length curtains closed.

Only after making sure he had crossed over to the opposite balcony did she tidy up her appearance and walk toward the door.

    “Click-”

When she opened the door, she saw Lenora standing there with a sullen face.

“What’s going on with you? I’ve been knocking for so long and you never came.”

Lenora nced into the room, then fixed her gaze on Romina’s face.

Just as Romina was about to speak, the door to the room next door was suddenly flung open.

Joaquin leaned against the doorframe, his voice low: “Lenora, what are you shouting about?”

Lenora quickly turned around, and when she saw Joaquin, she was momentarily stunned: “Joaquin, why are you back too?”

“I came back to check on Sir Bowman.” Joaquin’s expression darkened a bit. “I was just about to take a nap, but you disturbed me.‘

    Romina looked at Joaquin nervously.

Of course, she understood what he really meant by ‘taking a nap.‘

“It’s not even evening yet, and you’re already going to sleep?” Lenora was surprised. “I just wanted to call Romina down for dinner.”

“If you’re hungry, you eat; if you’re tired, you sleep. Isn’t that just human nature?” Joaquin
