Jericho, still holding Romina’s hand, suddenly stopped, his steps halting.
Romina looked in the direction of the voice and saw the man’s bright eyes filled with a frightening anger.
“Joaquin, Romina is my wife. Surely you wouldn’t try to stop me from having a few words with her?”
Jericho’s gaze was especially dark, and when he looked at Joaquin, the usual gentleness was gone, reced by cold sarcasm.
“Is there something Ms. Lambert and I shouldn’t hear?”
Joaquin fixed his gaze on the two of them, then nced at Nadine, seemingly on purpose.
Nadine seemed to realize something and asked curiously, “Yes! Jericho, if you have something to say, just say it here.”
“These things can’t be said in front of you. It’s between my wife and me.”
Jericho’s voice was much lower.
Romina, who had been silent all along, instinctively shook off Jericho’s hand after witnessing the scene, and strode toward the restroom.
“If you want to talk, hurry up. Don’t make me miss
my meal.”
Jericho quickly followed, his expression dark as ever.
Joaquin watched their departing figures, his brows furrowing slightly.
Nadine, standing to the side, clenched her fingers tightly, her chest heaving with anger.
Romina had been walking ahead, but just as she reached the corridor, her wrist was suddenly grabbed and she was dragged toward the emergency exit.
“Bang-”
The loud sound of the door closing echoed through the emergency exit.

Romina red back at him: “What are you doing?”
Jericho shoved her against the wall, his gaze especially dark: “Why did you and Joaquin go out to dinner alone?”
Romina’s back ached all over when it hit the wall.
When she lifted her gaze to look at the man in front of her, she saw a crimson fury in his eyes. At that moment, he resembled a wolf prowling in the night, fierce and ruthless, staring intently at his prey.
The warm yellow light in the emergency stairwell shone on Romina’s face, without a trace of gentleness. “I owed him a meal, that’s all. Today, I was just treating him to dinner.”
Jericho quickly closed in, looking down at her from above. “You think I’ll believe that?”
“Believe it or not, that’s up to you!”
Romina had no intention of responding to him and was about to leave.
Jericho suddenly growled, “Did I say you could leave?”
Romina still didn’t stop. The coldness in her eyes deepened as her hand continued to reach for the door handle.
But before her hand could touch the handle, her other wrist was grabbed by someone from the side.
The next second, her whole body was yanked back against the wall.
Joaquin reached out with his well–defined hand and in an instant, gripped her neck, his face full of anger. “Romina, tell me honestly, do you have some kind of ambiguous rtionship with Joaquin behind my back?”
Romina’s heart leapt to her throat in an instant, her back tensing up.
She looked up and met his gaze, but didn’t say a word.
“My mother called me a few days ago and said she saw Joaquin and youing out of my room together. Shouldn’t you exin to me what exactly happened?”
Jericho’s hand, still gripping her neck, tightened even more.
A wave of pain shot through Romina’s neck, and her breathing started to bebored.

But she still opened her mouth to exin, “I’ve already exined this to her, but since you’re so curious, I can exin it to you again!”
“That day, you and I had an argument in the room. You were choking me just like you are now. After you left to take a call, Joaquin just came in to check on me, that’s all! Weren’t you there that day? Don’t you know exactly what happened?”
Jericho frowned slightly, as if he didn’t quite believe her.
But the force of his grip on her neck eased a little.
“Let go!” Romina’s face was already turning red, her breathing growing more and more difficult. “I said let go, did you hear me?”
She reached up and wed at the man’s hand, trying to pry it off her neck.
For a moment, she even wondered if Jericho really wanted to strangle her.
But Jericho suddenly tightened his grip even more, the veins on his forehead bulging with
rage.
He suddenly leaned in and whispered in Romina’s ear, “You are still my wife in name. You’d better not do anything to betray me, or I won’t let you go–especially not with Joaquin!”
At that moment, the sound of high heels suddenly echoed from outside the door.
“Jericho, Jericho…”
“Where are you?”
Romina summoned all her strength, lifted her foot, and kicked the door hard.
“Bang-”
The loud sound of the door being kicked echoed in their ears.
